The dvds aren't stuck to a fancy disc holder thats hard to remove them from and running the risk of breaking them or the holder every time you take them out but in a simple sleeve that sits in a speacially made sleeve slot in the box. You can remove the discs easily without putting any strain on the disc or case in their little sleeves and then place them back in their sleeves and just sit them on top of the case if your going to watch them again without needing to put them back into the case because the sleeve they sit in provides ample protection for them from general household elements. The Price:Quality of packaging Ratio is still a little high, by that I mean that the quality of packaging is very good 7/10 the designers haven't gone over the top with needless amounts of plastic and fancy designs, instead they have used a simple design that protects the discs inside perfectly well, doesn't let them rattle about inside and has no little clips that can easily break off inside to let the discs freeroll about and get scratched. The price is as ever the high side of the ratio. Although fairer than most it could still be better. The episodes have been written to disc using a decent quality writer, sometimes the tracking is a little off but not really noticable. ( I paid very close attention ) The quality of the episodes is good in playback I give again a 7/10. The programme itself; I'm going to keep this short or I will go on and on. Anyone who doesnt love He-Man needs shooting. He stands up for all the things that all Super Heroes do but all he has is a little magic and an enchanted sword, not to mention he's the strongest man in the universe. He - Man is an intelligent look at dealing with your problems, morals are included in each and every episode/part of the story and there is good clean fun with the action. It is not violent in any way shape or form, there is no bad language, you dont ever see anyone get blood shooting out of their bodies or see a limb get smashed to smitherines while still attatched or not. You see both sides of the story and this newer amped up version of the He-Man series you get to see more of the story such as origins and the like. There is more of an anime feel to the way the characters have been composed but its not in your face, they are smooth, and dressed well, with good use of colors and for the most part stick to the original colour scheme of the original characters from the original series. Review: One of the best from the 80s - This is the original from the 80s complete series. And it still is one of the best cartoon series around by filmation. So much better than most of the modern cartoons. You will love this set whether you're an adult wanting to live the old days when you was a child or if you want to introduce your children to top quality cartoons. And it always had some positive advice at the end of each episode something kids today need. Buy buy buy

an excellent re-imagining of the 1980's classic
This is the complete 2002 series. It consists of 39 episodes, spread over two seasons. I thoroughly enjoyed this animated TV series. In fact, it's only of my favourites (another being 'Batman: The Animated Series'). I was a child of the early 1980's, and my formative years involved playing with He-Man toys ... so when I heard, back in 2001, that a new 'Masters of the Universe' series was being made, I was really looking forward to this - and was not disappointed. Unlike the 1980's show, this series has genuine continuity - lots of story arcs. And I'd say it's made with an adult audience in mind (not that it's graphic, but that it takes itself seriously). So while kids may enjoy it, grown-ups can too. The series starts with peace and tranquility reigning over the kingdom of Eternia - until the evil forces led by Skeletor, Overlord of Evil, seek to take control. A young Prince Adam is, rather reluctantly, bestowed 'The Power' and transforms into He-Man ... who saves the day! And, henceforth, many of the episodes are about Skeletor undertaking some wicked plan to conquer Eternia, while He-Man and his friends do all they can to maintain the peace. Fortunately, the storytelling is rather sophisticated - and there's never a dull moment. The show ran for two seasons, between 2002-04, and was well-received (indeed, it was award winning). But the related toy-line didn't sell in sufficient quantities, so the show was cancelled. Pity. This box set contains all 39 episodes. If you enjoy action / fantasy animated shows, you'll probably enjoy this. You don't need to be familiar with the 1980's show.

Going He-Gan-Man!
Bought the classic series of He Man to see more of Orko, who was graciously ignored in the 2002 series. Orko is my favourite character, and the minimal amount of episodes he stared in in the 2002 series just breaks my heart into a million pieces. However, the '80s Orko is well loved and admired by his friends Prince Adam, Teela and Man-At-Arms, who laugh along with his antics. They even added the He Man & She Ra films and specials on one of the discs, so I'm using it to document 2002 Orko's good life with his lion family in the Me, You, And...pouch. Trolly molly!

Superb fun for any He-Man fan and anyone fantasy/action animation fan.
This re-make is actually better than the classic version as visually it is much nicer, the action scenes are fantastic, the dialogue is much improved and Skeletor is an absolute hoot. Although this is aimed at children (I am 27 years old) it certainly has mature blood pumping through it's veins and so means that adults can enjoy it with out being patronised. The story lines are coherent and are interwoven. We are treated to origin stories and get a great insight into how Skeletor becomes so, how and why He-Man is protector of Eternity and back stories for the other main characters. I cannot express enough how much fun I have found watching this and I find it to be great inspiration regarding creating fantasy worlds for film. The only reason this is not 5 stars is because it does have a slight twinge towards children but as noted, it is not too childish and can easily be enjoyed by an older audience...especially if you watched the original as a child like myself.

I grew up watching He-Man in the 80s. As an adult looking back at those 1980's episodes, they are extremely corny almost to the point that they're unwatchable. The 2002 version of the show is a great new take on this classic story. The creators stayed very true to the original canon, which will satisfy your nostalgia. The animation is better, the story line has better continuity, and the character development is much more in-depth. This whole series is geared toward the adults who watched the 80's version as kids. They even kept the "life lesson" part at the end of each show. The "secret identity" is a heck of a lot more convincing than the 80's version, as here Prince Adam is a teenage kid that lacks many of the admirable qualities of He-Man. As such, he struggles with his role as Prince Adam when the fighting starts, which adds an adult layer to the show. I don't usually submit reviews but I saw that there were a couple low-scoring ones. Frankly, this shocked me enough to submit my own. This series is outstanding. Yes, there are anime-style action shots. Yes, the overall theme of the show is slightly darker than the 80's version, but the old shows were too over-the-top happy anyway. This discussion is all relative, of course; the 2002 series was a Saturday-morning cartoon and is very kid-friendly. They managed to keep it kid-friendly while targeting the young(ish) adult audience. My kids love this show and so do I. You will too.

This series is surprisingly really good. It's a shame that they never produced a second season. Fans of the original Filmation cartoons can enjoy this along with their children. I wouldn't watch this with my 5 year old (it's way too violent for a kindergarten), but I bet he will like it when he is 11.
