i have a 2012 he road King, I wish to install a Owens 159. Is this shock one inch shorter than stock?

Hd159 is a 13" shock which is the same as your stock height. If you want to go 1" shorter then purchase the HD 774 black line shock. It is a 12" shock that will fit your motorcycle.
