this is an amazing learning tool for children behind on their speach and toddlers

Some of the cards are American English whilst most are British so a bit confusing.

The media could not be loaded. The little blue cat plugs into the USB socket of your computer, once charged the lights change colour and you can insert one of the four sets of cards into the slot on the front. The cat has to be upside down to insert the card which seems a little odd, as you can see from the video my natural instinct was to have the card the wrong way round. There is a button to increase volume and a repeat button. The toy says Hello and I'm going for a rest for a goodbye. This would be useful for travel. The box with the cards would get a bit battered. You could probably find a little bag or tin, small lunch box to put the items in. Hairband round the cards to keep them together in a changing bag/your handbag. If children are late to talking or are special needs the picture and the words would be useful. There is still no substitute to parents talking to children to increase their vocabulary skills, bit it is a nice little item. Everything works and the sets of cards are all on every day things that children will love and be familiar with. I would buy this as a small gift.

The box these come in is a bit lightweight and not very inviting. That said the ‘cat themed’ machine is a nice size for little hands. However the ears are at the bottom when cards are being put in. The cards are numerous and you may want to pull out some of the ‘Americanisms’. There will still be plenty left.There is a small USB to USB C lead for charging. There is a light to show when charging (red), working (blue) and recognising the card (green). There is an on / off switch on top. A sound button can offer a few volume choices and there is a button to repeat.When a card is put in it reads the word and if there is an associated sound plays this as well. It is as easy as that – ‘child’s play’ you might say.For accurate learning, a teacher I know said, it helps that the words on the cards are in lower case. The voice is a standard English female one and on and off opens and closes with a greeting.These cards can be helpful as games at home, nursery or school. These could also be useful in helping learn nouns for a second language learner - if they weren’t too old to be offended by it being aimed at youngish children.
