Used Once
I used these for fermenting my pickles. I have never had a problem with mold before and I don't use weights. I typically use the original metal lids that come with mason jars and cover with lots of water, making sure to pack my veggies very tightly. I do get a problem with rust sometimes with metal lids.Also, I was tired of cracking open my jars every day to let the gas escape. I thought these would make life easier. I used them with the metal ring. I found that the green lid kept disconnecting from the metal ring and falling down into the jar beneath the water line. This was very frustrating. I also never heard the gasses escaping when I pinched the lid. Because of these problems, two of my jars out of 4 ended up coved in thick white mold. I don't want to say the product is bad because it could be my method. I will try again with weights using these green lids.

Very satisfied
I am very satisfied with these. They did just what I needed them to do. I used mine to ferment organic raw honey and garlic cloves. After a few days you would get a slight scent of garlic in the kitchen which meant they were doing what they were suppose to do. I would recommend these if you are canning something that needs to be "burped". Very happy with them. I got 5 for 8.99 not bad. I did however have to cut one to fit since I didn't have wide mouth jar. It still worked well!

fitno it dont fit over jar opening all the way
was going to return them but amazon wont let me, save the 8$ these are to small for the wide mouth mason jar, will let air in after putting on the rimng it will move the top away from lip of jars.. So find another produck sold by amazon, me i jist lost 7,99

These are GREAT!
Never could make sauerkraut without it getting all moldy before now, but when using these with wide-mouth half-gallon Ball jars, we have SUCCESS!!! Highly recommended!

They just didnt seal well and instead of fermenting properly my veggies molded

Some lids are too small and don't seal.
I love the idea! When they deal they are easy and amazing. But some of the lids are too small in diameter to make the seal on the mason jar.......better a tad too big instead of a tad too small.

Hygienic!
Made the fermentation process much easier. No need to hunt down clean cloth and rubber bands to cover my mason jars. I could put them in the dishwasher when I’m done!

These things rock. Currently making fermented garlic and kimchee. They save a lot of trouble.
