These Baofeng walkies are great for newbies to the two-way radio space. They come programmed with the 16 licence-free PMR446 channels out of the box. PMR446 radios are completely legal to use without needing a licence from Ofcom. You can also purchase a programming cable to set CTCSS and DCS codes using a software such as CHIRP. These codes make it so that you only hear people who have set up the same codes as you. They come with something called 'Beat Shift' which means people on other brand radios will hear a distorted version of your voice. Note, this 'Beat Shift' technology is present on most, if not all, Baofeng radios so it's always best to stay on a non-crowded frequency. The earpieces that come with the radios are alright. A little plasticky but that's what's expected at this price point. Nowhere on the product page does it say that the earpieces have a microphone. They do! The earpiece wire is quite long, I'd suspect at least a metre. The charger holds the radio securely but it is initially finicky to get it in the charger itself. Overall, brilliant radios that are well equipped and perfect for personal projects and even small businesses. Definitely worth trying out.

Great little walkie talkies perfect for us to use on road trips , I’ve bought two and 6 others have bought them to for when we drive to Germany next year. I love the fact these have a usb c charging post as well as the charging cradle meaning I should even be able to charge them from my power back in an emergency
