High End Style - And Cost.
Bought to replace our older Dualit that we have had for ten years because whilst still working well it is looking tired and of course styles change. This one taps into the latest style of using copper for a bit of added retro look, which I rather like. There is a sort of 'industrial,' look about it that is a bit steam punk in its execution. In use it boils very fast and most noticeably - or rather not - very quietly. So much so that you have to be standing right by it to hear it. The lid is a bit stiff to open which I'm sure will ease over time but when it is open the top is clear for filling with an easily read level gauge down the side. If I do have a niggle then it is the manufacturing of this. It's not cheap for a kettle and yet whilst Dualit proudly brandishes the 'Designed and Engineered in Britian,' tag lines everywhere, the reality is that this is not made in the UK. It is made like most things overseas in some low labour cost country. And if this only cost twenty quid then fair enough but when you are forking out close on £120 then I fail to see how there isn't enough slack in that price to enable UK manufacturing to still allow a decent profit to be made. This is a real bugbear with me when 'traditional,' British companies play on their Britishness and charge accordingly yet are actually selling you stuff made in the Far East. Anyway, rant over, the actual product is well made, stylish and works very well. But pricey.

Dualit Kettle CVJK13
A beautiful stunningly designed kettle available in chrome with a different coloured metal strip at the base. I chose a copper stripe. The lid is attached easy to open. Fast boil. BPA FREE. Dualit's Whisper Boil very quiet. A lovely pourer no drips. A sturdy on/off switch. The kettle is a good weight & the base so will not get knocked over. A measure on both side of the kettle one side in litres the other in cups. I also bought a matching copper Dualit 4 slot toaster also available as a 2 slot excellent quality the best toast I have tasted

Expensive - yes, but worth it
I've wanted one of these (and the matching toaster) for ages. Took the plunge and forked out for the most expensive kettle I've ever owned. Practically speaking, it performs as well as any other quality kettle. It's quite fast, quite quiet and safe to pick up whilst full of hot water, as the handle remains cool enough to touch. What sets this apart, for me at least, are the classic looks, the flask-like construction that keeps boiled water warm, and the accurate pour. You do however, need to tip the kettle quite far to get the water out. I hope and expect that this is the last kettle that I ever need to buy, and while I own it, I will smile whilst admiring my investment.

Superior quality kettle with great looks
This kettle has a premium quality feel, looks great and is very well put together too. The 'Whisper Boil' works - the boil is noticeably quieter than our previous kettle. The windows on the sides of the kettle make it easy to put in the right volume of water to avoid wasting electricity. There's no taint to the taste of the water, even when new. The 3kW element means that the kettle boils quickly, even when full and non-drip spout works well too. The design of the kettle means you have to fill it by opening the lid which is rather stiff to open but is well-sealed, so no leaks. The only other small gripe is the weight of this kettle but I guess that's down to the premium quality components. Given the high price of this kettle compared to most others on the market, does it give value for money? For me, the simple answer is 'Yes'. I paid for quality and I got it!

Great kettle - style AND substance
Wow, proper Dualit quailty. Expensive for something that only boils water, but worth the money in my opinion. Finish is really excellent, looks every bit as good as the photos. Boils quickly, pours well with no drips at all. The spout is quite narrow, so you don't get a great gush of boiling water out; it's a steady pour rather than a deluge, which I like. This is advertised as being a very quiet kettle, but I wouldn't buy it solely on that claim- to my ears it's not much quieter than any many others. One great thing - it's repairable. Should there be a problem years down the line (I'm not expecting any, but you never know), Dualit design their stuff so that they can repair it if need be. I like that. I could have bought a cheap kettle that if broke would end up in landfill. As far as I know, Dualit are a British company that have been round for many decades. I've had a 2-slice Dualit toaster for twenty odd years, which is still going strong and with a polish looks as good as new.

Good Kettle, but expensive.
Not as quiet as I was lead to believe, but much better than our previous kettle. Excellent to pour from, good boil speed, and great cut off once at boiling point. It is a very good kettle, but expensive, if it lasts longer than a year in a very hard water area, then maybe it will start being worth it.

I decided to buy this article over amazon.de to have an European plug and it comes with the UK plug. It's not mentioned anywhere! Could had both it 36 euros cheaper for the same product over amazon.co.uk and there I know for sure it came with the non European plug. This is second Dualit product I buy over amazon.de and the first one came with the right plug.
