Great for backyard practice
Throw eWanted to try a new sport I keep hearing about, so I picked up this WICING throwing hatchet and started practicing in my back yard. Out of the box it has a nice authentic look, and it feels like a real tool, not a toy. The beech wood handle feels solid in the hand and the grip is comfortable even after a bunch of throws. I like that the handle feels very strong and stable, which gave me more confidence while learning. The weight feels balanced enough that I could get consistent spins without fighting it too much. The head and handle connection on mine came tight and it has stayed that way so far. One small thing I appreciated is the finish on the wood, it is smooth and does not feel rough or splintery. It also comes with several spare parts so you can reinforce the handle area and make it even stronger where it attaches to the axe. That is a great idea, but I wish they included a simple instruction sheet showing how to use those spare parts correctly. No loose pieces so far, but I think I would use spare parts after I throw them couple of hundreeds times. It has been a fun addition for backyard practice, and it feels built to last.

Well balanced throwing axe(s).
Bought these as a "cheap alternative" to my more expensive throwers so I can let the guys, gals, and kids at my hunting club use them during our club gatherings rather than having somone ruin my "good" ones but, these turned out to be the "good ones" when I tested them at home. First, the come extremely sharp for these type of axes and the blade angle is PERFECT! Second, Top that off with the fact that they balance at a perfect "landing" angle, I used my forearm to slide them up until they stayed by themselves at their center of gravity and they all sat the same way. About 1/2 " back from the head, with the handke at a near perfect 45° angle. Third, handle wood hardness. This was surprising to me, they feel comfortable, light, and are formed for small, medium, and large hands to grip but also fits XL hands comfortably so at first it feels like a very soft-ish wood but, after accidentally absolutely SLAMMING one of these against one of my other "good" seasoned handles, (I won't explain the stupidity) I was surprised that my old, "shot hardened" handle broke and didn't even leave an indent in the new one!!! SO, I used my heavy tow chain safety test fuage to put it under a measurable amount of stress and it held straight as the anchor axe I used again, snapped instead!! (from the same old "good" set referred to earlier. So I couldn't get a PPSI reading, but the fact that it has no vibration upon impact tells me these handles are 100% safer, stronger and harder than my over-priced "professional grade" competition throwers! Very shocking to say the least! So, to the metal, the ahead angle is perfect in my opinion, it seats perfectly even with light throws and allows for easy release from the wood target. Just for more torture, I used one to chop at a medium hardwood log waiting to be split for firewood until it went dull but it never actually went "dull", it just lost a bit of its peak edge. 4 passes on each side brought it right back to dangerously sharp with no need to follow up with ceramic stone to polish. It self polished like a good carbon mix metal should. Also included are head "anchors" in case one comes loose or you need/want to adjust the handle lenths or replace them but, I'll definitely never need them if I didn't destroy one already. So, for the price, I ordered 2 more sets. 1 for me on competition nights, and 2 sets for using at club & home gatherings so I have enough for two throwing lanes at a time if a lot if people want to compete. I'm highly and pleasantly surprised at their quality!! 10/10 "wood" recommend:)

Perfect Balance and Quality - Best Value for Competition Throwing!
I've been axe throwing recreationally for about a year now, and these WICING competition axes have completely elevated my game. Right out of the box, I was impressed by the quality - the 1065 manganese steel heads have a perfect weight and balance that makes them fly true every single time. The beech wood handles feel incredibly solid and well-crafted. I was worried they might be too light or flimsy, but they're actually perfectly weighted for competitive throwing. The grain is smooth, no splinters, and they've held up beautifully even after dozens of throwing sessions. The finish on the wood gives just enough grip without being sticky. What really sold me on this set is the consistency between all three axes. When you're practicing and trying to develop muscle memory, having three identical axes means you can throw repeatedly without any adjustment to your technique. They all stick with the same rotation and force, which has dramatically improved my accuracy. The 15.7" length is ideal for WATL (World Axe Throwing League) standards, so if you're thinking about competing, these are legit. The balance point is right where it should be, making them forgiving for beginners but precise enough for experienced throwers. I've hit bullseyes I never thought possible. At this price point for a 3-pack, the value is unbeatable. I've seen single competition axes cost nearly as much as this entire set. Whether you're setting up a backyard throwing range or practicing for league night, you really can't go wrong here. My only minor suggestion would be to oil the handles occasionally to keep them in top condition, but that's standard maintenance for any wood-handled tool. Highly recommend for anyone serious about axe throwing or just looking for a fun weekend activity with friends!

Hachas de competencia
The axes are of regular weight, very well made, and come already sharpened. The handles are well-shaped and made of compressed wood.

Poorly built and no customer service.
All three heads are loose and rattle around. The website Amazon list to citact the seller comes back with a 404 error, and their telephone number only gives you a busy signal.

Axe throwing is pretty fun.
These axes are surprisingly balanced and have a great grip. They feel super comfortable to hold and the handle is the perfect thickness. After 20 throws, they held pretty well and look pretty solid.

Not sharp enough - buy a file and whet stones.
These are decent axes and seem to be holding an edge but I was very disappointed in how dull they were for a throwing axe. I expected them to be sharp and only need to hone and edge but I had to take the file, whet stones and some time to all of them.
