Brilliant
I've had this about 6 months now and I'm really impressed. It isn't quick like a conventional hairdryer and I do have to section my hair into smaller sections but I have long thick hair. Where this stands out is the overall finish, really smooth and less frizz. I'm really pleased with it and wish I'd treated myself sooner.

Best and favourite tool!
This is my favourite hair tool to use now. It is brilliant. It styles my wavy/curly hair perfectly and my hair stays straighter for longer than it usually does if I were to use a normal hair dryer and straighteners (compared to cloud 9s) It is big, it may not be suitable for you if you struggle to hold heavy tools BUT I find this much much faster to style my hair so I don't mind this too much. My hair feels so much healthier and softer when I've styled it with this straightener. I can jump out the shower, towel dry my hair and straighten it from wet. I've been able to do my whole head, wet to dry and straight, in 10 minutes!! (Medium length, bleached, thick). It definitely feels like it's doing much less damage but I would still recommend using heat protection spray as you are still applying heat to your hair and there's no harm in extra protection! It is a little loud when you first turn the device on but it is still quieter than most normal hair dryers and I wouldn't expect it to be silent. You might struggle if others are asleep nearby but no more than a hairdryer. I LOVE this styler and it's pretty much the only tool I will use now. Friends and family have given it a go too on different hair types and it's been amazing every time!! I have had this about 3 months now and it's still working like the day I bought it. I'm hoping this lasts as long as other ghd products used to but I am hopeful so far. *There is mention of it in the instructions but I would let the device run and heat up for a couple of minutes before first use and the plastic smell disappears. This is normal for most devices but is worth noting that it's nothing to worry about*

Amazing
Wow straightening my hair just became so easy. I have just past the shoulder length curly frizzy hair. Wash spirits with GHD heat protection and 20 mins later perfect straight hair with volume, no frizz and so soft. Hair doesn't get too hot and no crispy hair smell. So easy to use, not heavy or noisy. Just take sections of hair like when I straighten, 3 to 4 glides down then move on. Finish off with shine shot. Hair isn't flat like it is with normal irons. Easy to dry roots and get the baby hair too. Lasts till next wash 3/4 days. Even able to create waves on my bangs. Can't fault them. Yes they are expensive but I was able to pay over 5 months interest free so win win. I can't recommend them enough. Super quick delivery too.

Slow but gives great results
I am in two minds about this. The negatives are that it is expensive, heavy and hurts my arm and it takes ages to dry my thick shoulder length hair. I have an airwrap and I can get my hair dried in a fraction of the time. However, this gives a fantastic result. My hair sits perfectly, as though I’ve gone to the hairdresser. It straightens perfectly but it is easy to turn to give a bit of bounce. The results are shiny, bouncy, perfectly styled hair. It also keeps my hair straight until I was it, a new experience for me. Due to all this I really do love it. It seems to work far better than regular GHD straighteners which also are great. I want to use this every wash but it takes too long so I think I’ll use it when I want to look good and rough dry it first. Its appearance is sleek and lovely and it appears to be very well made like all GHD products. Yes I very much recommend it but be aware it takes ages to dry, leaving you with a sore arm but the results are amazing!

Soft, shiny hair
I have really frizzy hair no matter how well I try to blow dry it. This made my hair very soft and shiny. The shine shot is really just GHD straighteners by a different name. They are still needed to perfect the look but it’s a really quick going over with the large plates as the majority of the straightening was done at the time of drying. Roots were still a bit damp despite holding each pass for 3 seconds. I recommend waiting until your hair is 70-80 dry or blasting with a hairdryer on the roots if you’re pressed for time. Originally when I watched video reviews, I thought the shine shot did most of the heavy lifting so if you already had GHDs then there was not much value in this product. However, that’s not the case as the drying process really helped with the frizz control and the shine shot was a really quick process afterwards. Didn’t think I’d love the bigger plates but I would ditch my platinum GHD for the bigger plate straighteners in a heartbeat now! Like this is 2 in 1. Really quiet compared to Dyson Supersonic and I didn’t find it heavy at all. Hair stayed straighter and frizz free. Better than when I use a hair dryer and regular GHDs.

Not what it described in the reviews.
This product was not what I thought it would be. It took alot of times to dry one bit of hair (and I have thin hair). Then it was tugging and I could her it catching and breaking my hair. When you lay it down to section the nezt bit of wet hair the hot air doesn't stop which would cause the area to burn when they are resting unless you set them on a heat mat (this is provided). I feel it would cause the same damage as me blowdrying my hair then using straighteners after.

Go for it!
I’ve been looking at this for ages and always put it off because of the price, but honestly it’s worth it! It dries and straightens my hair so fast and easily. It keeps my hair perfectly straight for 2/3days until I next wash it. I’ve had nothing but compliments about how shiny my hair is too! Overall, it’s pricey but the quality makes it so worth it

Amazing for fine frizzy hair
I've used this 3 times now and can't believe how great it is. I watched so many YouTube reviews before I bought it due to the cost but for me and my hair type, so far so good. It is my first GHD product. My hair is fine with enough of it, but it has a natural frizz if left to its own devices. This means I need to dry it straight or I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards. What I don't want is a flat ironed look so have never taken to straighteners. I have been using the Revlon one step and dyson air wrap depending on if I want it straight or wavy. Recently though nothing has been able to take away the frizz. And even if it looks ok it frizzes up within a few hours hours. This is why I tried the duet and it is the only way I've ever had anything close to resembling a proper blow dry at home. Plus it lasts until the next wash. My hair looks shinier than it really is and feels soft with body and movement. I've not even used the shine shot (normal straightening) apart from the baby hair at the roots as I don't like the idea of too much heat on already fine and dry hair. All the cons I read about weight, noise and the placement of the controls are a non issue. I am used to the bigger head of the Revlon though so it may take some getting used to. It is way more effective for me than the Dyson smoothing brush which I could just not get to grips with. I got mine from the warehouse and the box looked like a dog had chewed it but the device itself was pristine. If you are at all on the fence I would try it. I'm so glad I did.
