Sturdy, easy to figure out, and fun for the bird
I bought this toy for my umbrella cockatoo. It was very easy for him to figure out. It's sturdy. He's destroyed the little plastic pieces that cover each top, but the cups and main assembly is remarkably in tact. For a new bird, this would be a good toy to teach foraging from hanging toys because of its simplicity. For a foraging veteran, it serves to encourage him to climb to places he otherwise doesn't for exercise.

can really take a beating
This toy is a great toy. My parrot gets a bit rowdy and wild with her toys at times. She is a blue fronted amazon, and she is extremely playful. I feel like this is an excellent toy to have for treats, and even food! Sometimes I will put in foods, that I experience great struggles with getting her to eat, and she will sometimes eat them more than if I had just put them in her food dish. I feel like these are pretty durable, because she will destroy a toy very quickly, and she loves to swing around on these sometimes. I have only had to replace it once after she chewed up some of the tops for the cups, but that was in a few years! These are worth the money, and super fun to have for your feathered friend. I feel like they stimulate their foraging skills a bit as well.

Excellent foraging toy
Have 6 parrots ranging from a Goffins cockatoo to blue and gold macaws so I know the importance of hook bills having toys they can destroy and I DO purchase the destructible kind as well (to give them variety) that they have to destroy to get to the goodies. So . . when the destructible foraging toys have all been foraged and destroyed (and I've cleaned up the mess) I whip this bad boy out. For MY benefit: There's no shredded mess to clean up, this toy cleans up easily (I chunk mine in the dishwasher when running a load on "regular" cycle) and I probably won't have to replace this toy for a good while. (I purchased mine several months ago and, except for the "cheesy" link, it's still going strong.) For my birds' benefit: This toy sparks my birds' curiosity making them exercise their little brains figuring out how to get to the goodies, multiple birds can forage simultaneously, they have the acrylic beads & discs to "fiddle with" afterward and something to swing on. I gave this item 4 stars because the link provided to hang the toy is "cheesy" and obviously for the benefit of the manufacturer. My macaws have this type link destroyed the first day and I either have to do some foraging myself to get a suitable link to rehang the toy. Either that or get some pliars and crimp what's left of the link is such a way that it won't come off the chain. This is a big turn off knowing the manufacturer, if they know ANYTHING about large parrots, would HAVE to know this link is for MEDIUM-sized parrots yet they stick it on a toy for large parrots.

Poor quality design for birds with strong beaks
The cups are not made out of sturdy material at all. My conure destroyed them in less than five minutes and basically made the toy no longer usable for foraging purposes.

Our bird enjoyed ripping it to pieces
The description led me to believe this device had potential as a long lasting source of entertainment for my umbrella cockatoo. He and his beak had other ideas. The beak won, it took a week of determined effort, but the pieces were strewn about the cage a bit at a time. He had so much fun first figuring out how to get goodies then how to tear it apart, we ordered another. This is a decent bird toy, but depending on the tenacity and size of your bird, it may or may not last a long time.

This takes up to much space in cage.
My Grey likes this when it is laying on top of her cage or on her play gym, but it is to large in the cage. She does find the treats but, I have to lay it down. Since this review I have found a dangerous problem with this product. I was reading an article of dangers to Greys and other parrots, when Nikki became very vocal and in stress, she had hung her toe in one of the disk that covers the top and bottom of the treat area. I had to take the bites but was able to free her. She is very tame but at this time she was in a panic. If these disk could be designed with the holes as they are but without the notches on the out side of the disk and the slits, that is what she got her toenail hung in and would have kept chewing on her toe and trying to pull it out. I've been afraid of using this toy every since this happened. The article I was reading warn of this danger, I'm just glad it happened while I was home.

Great for my rats!
I use this to put treats and food for my pet rats. After 3 or 4 times it was quite easy for them, so now I hang it in harder to reach places to make it more challenging. The plastic discs that are on the top and bottom of each cup are thin and not sturdy. Thankfully it seems like this is the one thing they don't enjoy tearing apart, they could if they wanted to. A decent sized bird could break the plastic disks in 2 seconds if it wanted to. So if you've got a pet whose hobby is destroying things, you might want to get something more sturdy.

Love this!
I bought this for my Eclectus Parrot. He is a baby still so for him, it is plenty challenging for him. But if you have a more mature parrot that is used to foraging toys, it might be too easy. Also, I think if you put it in a cage with a larger Macaw, he might be able to break it fast. But since Eclectus' beaks arent' as strong, it works great for him. He has had this item about three weeks now and he still plays with it and seems to have fun! Sometimes I don't have anything in it and he still like to play. I think he likes the clanking noise the plastic makes. Very well made in my opinion more for Cockatiels, Eclectus, and Goffin Cockatoo. Probably will be okay for Macaws and African Grey but might not last as long.

This is a huge toy that one of my Senegals love. He loves that he can swivel it around to get to each cup or be a daredevil and hang from it while trying to get inside. These lids seem a bit sturdier that the other foraging toy I bought or at least this bird didn't eat the lids off the containers. It is big so you need to have a large cage to accommodate it.
