A Favorite, Despite Changes
I’ve used this beard balm for time and I love it. The size and scent have changed a bit. Lumber Yard isn’t as strong as it used to be, yet the quality remains top-notch. It keeps my beard soft, healthy, and looking great. A staple in my grooming kit!Recommend giving this beard balm a try.

They Changed (for worse)
Been using this exact beard balm for years. 3.6 ounces glass jars. Now all the sudden it’s a 2 ounces plastic jar for the same price. And they changed the formula to where it’s definitely not the same and smells bad now. I loved the old smell, they way it conditioned the hair and skin underneath, and the glass jars it came it. Now it’s time for me to shop the market again to find a new beard balm I like.

Tried the Beardbrand Utility Balm and I can confidently say—it lives up to the hype. The texture is smooth and easy to work into my beard, keeping it soft, nourished, and looking well-groomed without feeling greasy. What really sets it apart is its versatility—I’ve used it not just for my beard, but also to moisturize dry skin and even tame flyaways in my hair. The scent is clean, masculine, and subtle—nothing overpowering, just a nice touch that makes you feel fresh. Whether you’re new to beard care or looking to elevate your routine, this balm is a great all-in-one solution. A little goes a long way, and the natural ingredients make it a solid pick for anyone wanting quality without compromise.

Best beard balm on the market and a fantastic scent
I'm from Florida. With the humidity there, I never needed serious beard products because I never had any issues. I used a particular balm once in a while for the smell but that was it. When I moved to Colorado a few years ago, I instantly started itching and getting flakes (beardruff). The balm I had been using did nothing...I tried a few other oils and balms and nothing really helped...or smelled all that great. As soon as I tried BeardBrand, the itching and flaking stopped and everything felt better. Now I'm hooked. They have a lot of great scents and products on their website, but this new Pearl Snap scent is incredible. The fact that it's in their less expensive "white line" on Amazon is mind-blowing. It's a super fresh clean scent that sticks with you all day. And I LOVE the fact that these are travel-sized again. They recently increased the sizes of their other products, which is awesome from a cost:product ratio...but that means transferring them to a smaller container for travel. This is officially my go-to travel product and I love it. And to be clear, this goes for the oil, styling paste, and sea salt spray as well.

Does it all, but a bit pricy
First off, I love how this stuff works for many applications. I bought it for my beard and have used it as a general face/arms moisturizer, but I’ve also started to use it to style my hair, and it works great in all situations. This one thing can replace 3 separate things effectively.Objectively, this stuff deserves the price tag it commands, it performs above average in a multitude of uses. Unfortunately that price tag is $10 an ounce. $20 for 2 ounces is a tough pill to swallow, but then I don’t think I would be able to find 3 separate products at less than $20 combined. It’s ultimately aiming for a more luxury focused market, and if a large fashion house were producing this, it would probably cost 3 times more. There is value for money happening here, even if the cost of that value commands a high price.

Smells fine
Smells like shea butter. I'm not sure what people expect from a beard balm but it certainly doesn't smell terrible. Convenient to use.
