Exactly as advertised
This battery seems identical to the OEM battery that came with the laptop. It works perfectly, and is giving this old laptop a new life.

Not enough POWER!
When I got the battery, I tried to follow the instructions to run the computer on the battery to drain the battery to 2%. I put the battery in, pressed the power button, tried to log in, and the computer shut off. I assumed that the battery wasn't charged. I plugged the computer in and booted it. When I logged in I saw that the the battery meter said that it was charged to 63%. So I unplugged it and started using the computer. It immediately shut off. I then charged the battery overnight. Booted the computer while plugged in, logged on, saw it was at 100%, brought up the power meter and unplugged the computer. It said I had about 2.5 hours. I left it like that for about an hour, then tried then tried changing the battery setup to get more performance, hoping to run the battery down to 2% faster. It shut off almost immediately . At that point I couldn't boot from the battery, I had to plug it in. Booted, logged in, brought up the battery meter (at about 50% at this point), changed the battery setup for the least performance, and unplugged it. It seemed to be running fine, so I tried bringing up a browser. It shut off immediately. I think this battery simply can't deliver enough power to run this laptop (ASUS G73JW) for any length of time if you actually use the computer. If you don't use the computer it'll run for about 2 hours. I'm going to try to return it.

Not enough amperage to start computer?
I haven't quite worked out why, but the laptop computer won't boot on this battery. It powers up, tries to boot, then shuts off after a few seconds. If I start the laptop on AC power, I can then unplug the AC and the battery gives reasonably good life, about 1.5 hour which is what I expect. So, perhaps, it doesn't provide enough amperage for the boot-up? I'm not certain yet.

Just like new, for better or worse.
The batteries in these machines are small for the demands of the computer. This is designed into the G73, and it should be considered as a built in UPS to give you enough time to save your work and shut down.

It works... Sort of...
I bought one of these batteries for an old ASUS G73 gaming laptop I had on the shelf. The original battery was toast and would not take a charge of any kind. Long story short, the battery works... Sort of... On a full charge I only get about 30 minutes of usage out of this laptop. Not great, but it is what it is. To be clear I kind of expected that given the age, screen size, processor type etc. of this laptop. The battery was terribly undersized for this laptop straight from the factory, so I couldn't possibly expect an aftermarket battery to do any better. But it allowed me to do the BIOS update I needed to do and it DOES offer a little time off the tether in between fill-ups. The battery has an excellent build quality and it works 100%. It's just too small of a battery for this type of laptop. A poor design on the part of ASUS.
