Review of Javvy Protein Coffee – French Vanilla Instant Iced Coffee I'm about halfway through my first bag as I write this review. As someone who has been a fan of Javvy concentrate to make my morning iced coffee—while usually having a separate protein drink to round off my low-carb “breakfast”—I figured I’d give this a shot to see if I could combine the two. I had two typical caffeine/breakfast preferences in the morning: 1. A Trenta (30 oz.) Starbucks cold brew with heavy cream and no artificial sweetener (about 10 carbs for the drink), which is smooth and not bitter. I don’t like Starbucks iced coffee, but their cold brew is generally good. The cost is a little shy of $6 out the door. 2. I would drink a 30 g low-carb protein drink separately (about $2 each when bought in bulk), bringing the total to about $8/day, which would last me until lunch. Drinking the 30 g protein drink while making a separate iced coffee drink (sometimes using the protein drink as a milk/cream substitute since protein drinks are typically thick) using Javvy coffee concentrate—for a total of about $4.50/day. Since my usual morning coffee is a 24 oz. to 30 oz. drink, I've used two loose scoops of the Javvy protein coffee in the drink. This yields about 130 calories, roughly 20 g of protein, and 8 g of carbs (6 net carbs) for that two-scoop serving before adding any milk or cream. The package says you can use water instead of milk, but no thanks (okay, maybe I’ll try it in the future...maybe). I use unsweetened coconut milk and 2 tablespoons of heavy cream, and before adding any sweeteners, it’s already pretty tasty. Taste: Smooth like cold brew or good iced coffee, with a nice coffee flavor. It could be due to the coconut milk, but I don’t get much of a “French vanilla flavor,” or perhaps it blends nicely with the coconut milk. If stirring initially with a spoon, you may find some clumps caked on the spoon. Licking that off isn’t particularly tasty but tolerable. Not doing so would likely result in negligible waste of protein powder. Texture: So far, I’ve blended this with a frother twice, shaken it twice, and stirred it vigorously with a spoon four times. In all cases, there have only been very small clumps remaining, which seem to dissipate before I drink them, or are too small to notice. Overall, it blends and dissolves very well, so you aren’t left with bitter chunks while enjoying your coffee. Caffeine: The bag says it has about 80 mg of natural caffeine per serving, so my 24 oz. to 30 oz. drink only contains about 160 mg in total, compared with a typical 8 oz. cup of coffee at 160 mg to 200 mg, or my Starbucks 30 oz. cold brew with about 360 mg since it’s not entirely coffee. I’ve never been perceptive to caffeine’s effects, so this doesn’t concern me, and it’s probably a healthier dose of caffeine than the overkill I usually consume. Cost: Since I’m about eight beverages into this bag, I estimate I may get about 12 two-scoop servings per bag for about $30 unless you can get a better deal or buy in bulk. While it provides approximately 20 g of protein instead of the usual 30 g from a separate protein drink, it may end up being a suitable replacement. Instead of $2 for my protein drink and $2.50 (or $6 at Starbucks) for coffee, I could just go with the $2.50 for a Javvy iced protein coffee drink. Overall: Initially, I was resistant to investing in the protein coffee (“$30 for a bag of coffee! That’s crazy!” I said to my husband). However, after trying it and doing the math, it actually makes a lot more sense for my frugality. Highly recommend!

Gotta Mix Well but Very Worth it
So I hate whey protein powder, but this actually tasted amazing. The caramel flavor was a little sweeter than I thought it would be but overall tastes great and I can't event taste the whey. Follow the instructions to the letter on the back of the package and you can't go wrong. I frothed mine and shook it in an airtight container to get the clumps out and while that takes a minute it's so worth it. Loved the flavor and the 10 grams of protein that came with it. It kept me full for a good while too. It tastes like a really good quality coffee, especially if you like a caramel machiato.

Very Sweet
For the most part, I like this so far. It is, however, *very* sweet, and doesn't have much coffee flavor. It's almost more like chocolate milk than a mocha. And yes, I know mocha is chocolate & coffee, but I would like just a bit of coffee taste. For the rest, the texture is very nice, not gritty at all. I used a little cheap milk frother to mix it thoroughly, and it worked well. It also seems to curb my hunger a bit, which gives me hope for losing some weight. I'll experiment a little with adding some instant coffee to adjust the flavor. Overall, I'm pleased with it.

Actually taste good!
Soooo I love it. I recently started being hungry in the mornings but I cant really eat for the first couple of hours I'm awake. Two scoops is best, and with milk. Helping me reach my protein goals & I feel better overall in the morning and throughout the day. I do feel like it's alot of $$$ but the ingredients seem to be of good quality.

DELICIOUS!!!
IT IS SO GOOD THAT I AM BUYING MY SECOND BAG NOW! I always need to drink strong enough coffee daily because if not I get migraines, and this definitely gave me enough caffeine where I did not feel all jittery but was perfectly caffeinated. It was so easy to blend in my milk using a milk frother, and it was not chalky at all! The flavor is fantastic and really tastes like French vanilla! It tastes good enough without even needing to add sugar too! I also felt satiety with the amount of protein it contains, especially if you do not feel like eating right away and just need some protein! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT!

Grate flavor. Love the high protein and energy the drink gives me. Tastes just like coffee. I enjoy it daily. It's smooth and goes down easily.

Good if you like iced coffee
Good flavor overall. I’m not a fan of Iced coffee, but I wanted to give this a try. The taste is nice if you’re looking for a protein option, but I’ll stick to my usual high‑protein foods. This was my first experience with the brand, and if you enjoy cold coffee, it’s probably a great fit. It isn’t bad—just not for me. Now I just need to find a home for the rest of the bag.

Carmel Protein Ice Coffee
This is a great protein coffee. It can be a little sweet, but when diluted, it’s perfect. It’s the best protein drink I have tried that tastes delicious without that chalky taste.
