Skip Hop Portable Baby Changing Pad, Pronto, Beige Swirl Dot

I’ve bought a few of these as gifts to new mums over the years. My own is still going strong after 5 years, no tears or cracks, easy to wipe down, stores everything you need for any manner of poo catastrophes and the mat is wide enough to cover even chonky babies. Worth the money for sure.

Exactly what I was looking for and practical. Perfect size to change baby, easy to grab and pockets are great for diapers and change of clothes. Included wipes container that fits perfectly in the pocket is an added bonus. Nice patter and colour.

Before you purchase this changing pad, note that this is a niche product. This is not the changing pad you put into your diaper bag - it's far too bulky and big. It would take up too much space. Nor would this changing pad replace your mini diaper bag as it's too small to carry all of your essentials for a newborn or a young baby when out all day. However, this changing pad is perfect for toddler mamas on the go, or for taking your bigger baby out for a quick errand run. The actual pad is large and spacious. Its bigger than any changing pad I've seen included in a diaper bag. The included wipes case is bright red and can hold quite a few wipes. My one issue with the wipes holder is that you have to open the whole unit to remove a single wipe instead of a smaller window or slit where you can pull out one wipe. This is not a deal-breaker, but it does require two hands to pull a wipe from the stack. The compartment where the wipes case is stored is big enough to hold other items. There are elasticized mesh pockets to store the diapers. Lastly, theres zippered pocket on the front of the bag when folded. The strap has a matching tone buckle so that you can attach it to your stroller, diaper bag, or any other place you fancy, really. I like that there's a zipper to remove the actual pad from the pouch completely. I was able to put two size 3 diapers and two size 6 diapers into the mesh pockets, several wipes in the case, my keys and flat wallet in the front zippered pocket, as well as an applesauce pouch. I'm using this changing kit for quick Target runs with my toddler or infant. I also keep it loaded up and I like throwing it into a bigger tote bag when we go places like swim class. I'll even attach the handle to my toddler's thermos water bottle handle and have him carry the whole thing for himself to the car. TLDR; this is not a substitute for a diaper bag but makes a great accessory for on-the-go outings.

I owned the black and white skip-hop diaper clutch when my twin daughters were babies, and I absolutely loved having it on hand. I usually would keep it loaded and ready to use in my car, so I could quickly change a diaper without having to break out my HUGE skip hop diaper bag. My SO and I also appreciated having a smaller changing bag for public restrooms; as juggling two babies and a large diaper bag can be a chore, especially in a dirty restroom. This clutch was perfect for short outings like grocery shopping, where I only needed the bareboned baby essentials. I would very often tandem wear my daughters and use this bag as my "purse." When I ordered this item, I was very hopeful that it would be everything I remember from 6+yrs ago, as I still own my huge diaper bag but I unfortunately lost my previous clutch in a fire. I'm happy to report that this item is everything I remember. The quality is great, like all the other items I have owned from this brand, and the print is neutral and trendy. The changing pad is removable, and although it isn't as big as I remember, it will definitely suffice. This clutch has great gift-ability, especially when paired with other less fun baby items. I know I loved receiving my previous clutch and the box of NB diapers it came with. In my opinion, the price for this clutch (and most skiphop items) is definitely a bit high. I think for the price, most new parents could find similar functionality at a way less inflated price. When you purchase this brand, I think you're getting a quality product, but you're paying extra for the prints and style. I recommend this item for someone who needs a bit more versatility than the conventional bulky diaper bag, but consider the price prior to purchase, as it may be a bit high for what it is.

Skip Hop makes a lot of nice baby products, and this is no exception. Unlike my previous reusable mat (Munchkin) this one actually has enough space to hold a small pack of wipes and 3-4 diapers and will still close up. It’s bulkier than carrying a disposable changing mat and a few diapers, however, so keep that in mind if you mostly want this to add to other products in your larger diaper bag. I like this for amusement parks or similar where large bags aren’t allowed. Be aware that a full sized pack of Water Wipes or similar doesn’t fit in the included container as it’s too thick; it only takes a travel size. The changing mat part zips off so it’s easy to wash. Overall, I like this little kit but think the cost is a bit high considering the functionality. 4/5 for me.
