This doodler pen makes a wonderful gift for the young artist. The Pen comes in 2 sizes,one for littler hands 5-10 or so. The larger one for teens to adults. 3 D art is amazing! I've watched as an 8 year old made pine trees, fences, plants and what looks like a bear! Along with the pen we bought the carrying case a mat with grid lines, another small book of design ideas and additional colored sticks. All made by the same company. It comes with some extra sticks in various colors., a chargeing cord and a small paper book of designs. The pen uses colored straws with a low melting temperature . Works by inserting the sticks into the pen where it melts them at a much reduced temperature. The pen doesn't get hot in the process.

We have several 3-D pens and the reels of ink are hard to use for kids. These are so easy that my four-year-old is able to use his pen unsupervised without getting frustrated.
