Trail tough..
I waited a season before reviewing, so they’ve been through the wringer now. Very nice heavy trail runners. I run up and down shale and bramble strewn “trails” in rural West Virginia. So it’s lots of sharp rocks, burrs, sticks, mud, and some creek crossings. The shoe has held up like a champ with very little wear showing for all of it. Good waterproofing too. They are very comfortable in a pillowy way. I normally prefer a shoe with firmer support, where as these are softer and it feels like there’s more play for my foot. But despite being different than my usual feel, it hasn’t inhibited performance at all and my feet are suitably supported. Good for sprints, hill climbing, and tight turns. They are a little heavier than I prefer too, but barefoot style just isn’t an option where I’m at. I need the high top to protect from thorns and ticks and other goodies. Now as others have stated, there is a weakness in the speed lacing hooks. One has broken on me from normal lacing, which is disappointing, but so long as the other one on the same side survives, it can be laced up. Fingers crossed on that. Also, as others mentioned, the tread has a Kryptonite, which is wet rocks. If you are approaching a water crossing of some kind, slow way down, as you can expect to slide out now and then. Otherwise though, one hell of a shoe, and looks great too. Love the colors, and I will wear them around town no problem. Will definitely buy the brand again.

Great shoes for everything!
I love these shoes! No complaints. I use these shoes for everything in the warmer months. I work on a very slick hard floor that often gets wet, sometimes with chemicals that are like lube or oil. These shoes don't slip and are 100% waterproof! Also I'm clumsy and kick everything accidentally. The steel toe and comfort of the interior the shoe stops my toes from stubbing. I also go for hikes and runs through parks. Again, mud and water don't soak through! Also mud seems to not stick to the bottom of the shoes at all. I've never experienced that before. I tend to drag my feet when exhausted and there has been no visible damage done yet to the shoes. I've only had these shoes for a week but hope they last a few years! Update: I've had these shoes for almost a year. Worn these shoes on hundred or so jogs/walks, covered them in mud multiple times, wore everyday at work on concrete, and have had cleaned these shoes numerous times. They still look brand new! Best shoes I've ever purchased!

Rugged, waterproof light weight shoe.
this shoe fit as expected seems well built. I like that it is light and very comfortable. I did not have to have a "break-in" period at all. T work as a maintenance tech and this were a great pick for me. The soles are none slip, shoes claim to be waterproof, they seem made for rugged use, yet I am able to wear them 10 hours a day. I have only had for a week so more time will tell how good they really are but I like them right now and have actually gotten several compliments on the look!

Great for long walkes and hikes
Bought them right before our trip to Montana. Took the risk of not wesring them in. Hiked more than 10mls in 3 days and so far they are doing great. Light weight, very comfy, it fells almost like walking on thick memory foam. Good support on difficult terrain, no issues downhill even on slippery ground. Two more days to go, lets see how they do. So far i can highly recommend these even on longer hikes. And the look good so might just use them on a regular basis. 5 Stars.

Can't get a better boot for the money
Love these! So comfortable and sturdy, yet light weight and cool. The tongue is not too high, it's perfect. Snug fit and true to size. Third pair of boots from this brand. I'm a fan

Super comfy... but poor traction on smooth wet rocks!
So I purchased these boots for myself and my wife to use in our lawn maintenance business and we have worn them for a week. Overall fit was great, and these boots are VERY comfortable to wear ALL DAY! I love their flexibility when I have to kneel down and pick things up off the ground. They are waterproof, but the design does not cover you foot where there are two holes on the sides of the tongue near your ankle and water will get in if you are stepping in anything deeper than the bottom of your ankle. The boots have great traction walking in grass, dirt, gravel, etc., but NOT on smooth rocks (we often have clients with dry creek beds that we have to walk on to blow leaves...). When I say smooth rocks, I am referring to the large smooth rocks used in landscaped ponds sometimes called pond rocks. These boots have absolutely NO TRACTION on damp rocks, sealed wood decking/stairs to the point that its like walking on ice! USE CAUTION if you're hiking in the rain and climbing rocks! You WILL fall. Other than that, they are great. I will right another review after wearing them for a while and let you know how well they last. I know that using them for work will reduce their lifespan, so take that under you consideration if you are just using them for weekend hikes. I might try a different pair of the same brand for the next ones when these are worn out, or sooner if I slip and fall...

Great shoe
RAX is becoming my go-to brand of shoes for hiking boots and I would gladly advertise for them. This is my 2nd pair. The first pair was purchased almost 3 years ago and lasted through tough hikes in Utah, North Carolina, Virginia and Washington State. I just now have retired them due to the bottom tread becoming dull. But, the amount of miles and terrain put in are the reason for this. This is the first waterproof pair I have purchased. The real tests will come later, but, so far the look and fit are awesome. The design on these shoes are so cool and definitely something you won’t see anyone else on the mountain wearing. Excited to put these to the test!

Ruined a good thing
I had the tan version of these without the strap on the back and they were the best shoes I ever had for hiking and every day tasks. I had them for two years until the tread started to wear off. These new ones I got didn't even last a week though. I wore them on a trip to the zoo. After 4 hours of walking in the pavement they started to fall apart. I've tried gluing them back together with no luck. They are terrible quality now. Won't buy them again.

Echt traurig so viel bezahlt aber ist schon kaputt gegangen. Für das Geld sollten die Schuhe wenigstens zwei Jahre halten!!!
