Super King Duvet 2.5 Tog, Made in the UK, Easy Care, Summer Fresh Quilt, Soft and Comfy, Polypropylene Hollowfibre, Machine Washable (White)

Bought this for guest bed. Visitors said they had their best sleep ever in it. Lovely and warm and super comfortable. Great quality duvet for a pretty decent price.

The cover of the duvet is of cheap and poor quality and is extremely rough. The thickness of the duvet also does not reflect that of a 16.5 tog. Would not recommend this to anyone. Tried to contact customer service for a refund but the email was invalid. To me this feels like a complete scam.

...although I wanted to be positive about this item which arrived in quick time I couldn't help but be immediately concerned at the point of delivery when I saw the polythene bag it was packed in with sticky tape wrapped around it. The inner and thicker polythene type bag that contains the duvet has a label that clearly states "This product has been sealed for hygiene..." which as can be seen from the photographs was a little ironic to say the least [the sticky label is what holds the two flaps together - or not as in my case]. The packaging indicates it was 'Made in The UK' and thus supports the UK economy which is always a bonus. Other reviews have been mixed and my review will only add to that mixture of comments. Starting with the outer fabric and the stitching it is probably commensurate with the price paid - the outer cover is a form of 'man made' fibrous 'waxy type' material that really does need the duvet to be used in conjunction with a more 'cuddly' cover material. The stitching is reasonable in as much as it seals the edges together but the finishing off at the corners looks as if it could quite easily unravel. The filling does require that you take the duvet out of the wrapper and give it a reasonably gentle shaking to get some air into the 'Hollow Fibre' filling. I found this was best done by laying the duvet on my bed and then going around the bed and gently shaking [not so hard as to redistribute the filling] from the sides towards the centre. After leaving the duvet to 'expand' for a while I then made sure that the filling was evenly distributed before putting it into a new duvet cover. It replaced a 10.5 tog duvet and I would say it didn't appear to be anything other than a 10.5 tog duvet insert. I cannot comment on 'wash-ability' as I have not tried to wash it and with summer coming when I will change to a 4.5 tog duvet I would hope to pop it into the washing machine and then hang out to dry in the sun - I don't think a tumble drier would be the best idea. Time will tell! As a small tip: If you suffer from duvet movement within the cover I secure the four corners of my inside duvet to my duvet covet with medium sized safety pins - works for me. In summary I have given it 3 stars in most areas because, in my opinion, that's where it belongs in the 'Value Range Polypropylene Hollowfibre Anti-Allergy Duvet' market.
