A truly awesome piece of gear.
Tl;dr: I zeroed my rifle in the pitch dark easily. It's that good. I have the zulus v2 on a cz457 and I typically use cci 710fps 40gr hollow points to hunt small game. The scope mount and scope itself have a very good fit and finish to them and all the components feel very rugged. All the parts that are used frequently are metal and should hold up just fine to wear and tear. The o-rings on the removable parts are easy to replace as they wear out. All the controls are silent and easy to use even with thick gloves on. The menu on both the scope and the app are very responsive and easy to navigate. I cannot tell you how many "quality" products out there have great hardware and garbage UI so it's nice to see a company finally get it right. Setting up the ballistic profile for my rifle was a breeze and it transferred to the scope with 0 issues. They even had the profile for the ammo I like to use already set up in the app. The scope has fantastic clarity in day and night and the screen can be set from dim to blinding. It comes with all the reticles and colors I would use ready to go and switching them on the fly is seamless. The recording feature works great and getting videos off the scope and onto your phone is extremely easy with the integrated WiFi. You can also see what the scope sees from your phone with less than 1 second of latency which is truly awesome. The laser range finder and integrated ballistic computer are about as good as it gets. You press a button, and you have the range and holdover. Dead simple. My favorite feature by far is the pip window. You can stay zoomed all the way out for target acquisition and then fine tune your shot on the pip window without touching your zoom. That is a game changer with twitchy animals that jump out of view all the time. I'm left handed and have no issue with the placement of the controls. The scope is comfortable to use even with glasses on which is a dream come true for me. Overall this thing punches way way up for the price. This is a mean piece of kit and you'd spend a small fortune to do marginally better. I'll continue to update the review as I put some hours on this thing through hunting season, but so far 10/10. DNT clearly put a lot of thought and effort into this and it shows. I had one small issue mounting mine on the cz457: The rail mount had a corner that just barely interfered with the bolt handle so that the bolt could not fully unlock. I fixed it by filing a tiny bit (maybe 20-30 thou) off the corner of the scope mount.

Buy this now. Stop wasting your time and money
First of all i purchased with my prime card because NV and thermal is pricey. The ZULUS is an affordable option and you get more than what you pay for. This is a digital scope so no power, and you can't see anything. That is the only negative. Positive I ran the zulus and my buddy ran a thor thermal. Now the thor was good picking up heat signatures anywhere. The zulus was better at identifying animal/targets whil hunting up to about 150 yards. I would use this over any thermal. It has a built in IR light that lights up the night. It has a rangefinder to identify quickly night or day target distance. The best part is the "1 shot zero". Take a shot. Freeze the digital picture and put your crosshairs on the shot you took. Then you will be zeroed in instantly. Amazing! Easy and saves ammo. They made this scope affordable and incredible. I challenge them to made a longer distance, to visibly see more clear at 300yrds. I can see a 3inch target at 300yrds. I would just like to see clearer and I know they can do it! Keep making these products. Thank you for providing affordable options for hunters of all backgrounds. Haven't figure out how to use app yet need more time. There is a ballistic calculator i would like to use. I did record video and will add later. Buy this product and be amazed. 🤙

Excellent overall, but short battery life
Excellent scope for the airgunners and subsonic/suppressed firearms hunters/pesters. If you shoot projectiles that have a rainbow trajectory (airgun pellets/slugs or heavy subsonic rounds), the on board ballistic calculator and laser range finder are game changers. No need to have separate range finder or doping charts. I wonder if it is possible to use this type of scope with crossbows and night time feral hog pesting. The small compact size is a huge plus. Compared to the bulky ATN X-Sight pro 4k and heavy Rix TourT20, this Zulus/DNT scope is tiny. I like how little real estate this scope takes up on my air rifles and AR-15's. I like that the buttons in the scope are separated by a little bit of space and not situated too close to each other. That way, I can easily know which button I am pressing (tactile memory) when I am sitting in a blind or tree stand in the dark. The ATN X-Sight also has widely spaced buttons. The RIx TourT20 buttons are too close to each other and somewhat cumbersome to futz around with in the dark. The 850nm IR illuminator does a nice job. However, I will be getting the 940 nm bulb (more discrete and less visible to the naked human, coyote, or hog eye). It is nice that all you need to do is unscrew the 850 nm bulb and replace it with a 940nm bulb. The button to turn on and adjust the intensity of the IR light is nice and quiet (unlike the Rix TourerT20 IR button). At 50 yards, the hogs will definitely hear the click of the Rix TourerT20 IR pushy-clicky button. It would be more ideal if DNT Optics offered a choice between the 850 versus 940 nm illuminators (or offer both). Battery life is short (maybe 3-4 hours tops) and will not last long enough for a nights pest control outing. I noticed that when using the scope with the illuminator, the power goes from full 4 bars to 3 bars in less than 5-10 minutes. For a night outing, I will forego the scope battery and connect the scope directly to battery pack (using USB-C cord). Not ideal because the cap that covers the SD card and USB-C connection needs to be removed and put away in safe spot. Not ideal to have these parts exposed to the elements. The battery can be recharged by connecting USB-C cord directly to the scope or by taking out the battery and recharging. Be careful when you screw on the battery cap. I can see myself stripping or cross threading the metal threads if I quickly try to screw on the cap. The rechargeable battery powers the entire unit (not just the IR illuminator). The instructions are helpful, but could be clearer. I had to reread the instruction charts a couple of times to figure out which buttons to long press or short press. I think the ATN X-Sight scope is more intuitive when it comes to navigating the buttons and on screen menu. Also, do note that you have to make sure that the ballistic profile matches the zeroing profile. The program doesn't automatically fuse the ballistic profile with the zeroing profile. That would be really nice. One could be using the ballistic profile for projectile A with the wrong or unintended zeroing profile. It was a little confusing for me at first. But, a quick phone call to the DNT Optics company was very helpful. I use this DNT Optics scope with a hand held thermal scope for night time hog and coyote pest control. The thermal hand held is for scanning and detection while the DNT riflescope is for species confirmation and shooting. Scanning with only the riflescope gets old real fast. DNT Optics has come out with 3 new rifle scopes that has thermal AND digital night vision with laser range finder and infrared illuminator (ThermNight TNC225R, TNC335R, and TNC635R). Pretty neat and at a more affordable price. DNT needs to show many more examples of what night critters look like under their scopes at varying distances. As for reliability of this unit, time will tell. I am hoping that this unit has better reliability than the ATN X-Sight units.

Great Scope with Excellent Features, Needs a Dimming Option
Great scope. Clear night vision, one-shot zeroing, rangefinder with ballistic calculator, and recoil-activated recording mode. Very durable and water-resistant. I like this scope so much that I’m considering buying a second one. The only drawback is that the viewfinder can be too bright for night use. DNT should add a dimming option.

Great scope for the price!
This is a whole lot of scope for the money. I am very impressed so far. The app and the ballistic calculator are very well done and pretty accurate. The night scope and IR light are pretty impressive as well. I had it out in complete darkness in a very remote area. And with the right conditions, I would be comfortable with being able to identify a target out to about 400 yards. However, I did notice that if you have items in the foreground with the IR light on, they will wash out the image or if it's in auto mode it will compensate to see the foreground objects but will darken anything in the distance. The solution to that is to position yourself so that there are no objects in the foreground. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because the reticle is very, very fine in the scope. It looks amazing on the video when it's on a larger screen, but in the scope, it's very fine and difficult to see. I had to change the more bulky duplex reticle or the small cross in the middle in order to see the reticle. A wish and an upgrade to a new scope model in the future is an auto-focus scope. Having to manually focus at each distance is a chore. The good news is that outdoors at a decent shooting distance, the focus doesn't change too much.

Tiny and Pretty cool
This scope works farily well. I orginally purchased it to put onto my crossbow. I wanted to use the balasitic calculator to account for arrow drop over multiple distances. This works pretty well, although it does take a little trial and error for crossbow bolts. As this is really design for rifles. The location of the laser ranger finder is a little klunky, but it works. I wish it was in a different location or that there were as a bluetooth remote that could be used. The zoom feature is also a little odd with the small wheel. It's pretty difficult to use with gloves, but I don't really adjust it with the crossbolt. I also moved this a rifle and the "one" shot sight in process works pretty well. It's not perfect, but it does save on ammo. My biggest complain is the 5x zoom. It's a bit much for my hunting area. I really wish that I had picked up the 3x, but it was never in stock. Also, they released a new body design of the thermnight. I'm hoping that they use the same zoom lever and LRF button placement on their newer scopes. All in all, it's been really good. Battery life is decent and I carry a spare in my pocket. The bootup time is around 15-20 seconds, but you can just put it in standby and the wake up is less than 2 seconds. I'll probably pick up a 3x this year and leave it on the crossbow.

DNT Zulus
Awesome little scope! I will buy another one for other rifle. Works like charm. It takes some time and research to enter ballistic data, but once its set, I love it !

Beyond Impressed
Carefully read the instructions and familiarize yourself with the basic operating functions and you will not have any issues programming and operating your scope. First off compared to the ATN 4K this thing is light and small once set up I I was super impressed with its performance clear and crisp imaging and the auto recording feature is flawless! But the range finder and ballistic calculation is better than the ATN ! And the enhanced PIP feature is awesome if you have tired eyes like me. Big heads up as soon as you get your battery charged go ahead and link it to your phone app and update the firmware because if you set it up first you will loose your settings after you update the firmware. Also the firmware addresses some finicky setup button issues. All in all it’s worth every penny.
