Excellent product, but has cons
Colours are quite up to the mark - creamy, pigmented, thick and sticky. Do all the justice to the brand as far as their quality goes. But, on the flip side, there is no sap green, and the other greens are almost identical and not that useful. One has to get one's own shade everytime. Same for two vermilions. Instead, two other pigments could have been added to the pack without losing anything on the variety or quality side. Other flip side to it is smaller box which though add to the lightness of the set, but the colours get stuck to the upper lid. Slightly larger size could have made it more useful.

HONEST REVIEW: PROS & CONS of Van Gogh Watercolours
Pros: 1) Luscious & Creamy watercolours. They don't dry into hard pans like Cotman does. 2) Lightfast colours. Except for Cerulean blue which does fade a bit 3) Not really student grade watercolours but Somewhere between Artist and Student grade watercolours 4) 15 colours at this price is a steal. Very affordable for these quality paints 5) the Case is solid Fibre and very good quality. 6) Palette provided is sufficient and can be removed to accommodate the lid as an extra palette. 7) the Colour choices in this set is one of most well rounded ones out there 8) Rich pigmentation and transparent watercolours 9)Brush provided is compact and good quality CONS: 1)Doesnt come with a notch/loop on the back to hold for Plein Air painting 2) No swatch card provided which is a given for any pan set 3) The paint pans aren't individually wrapped which might not be a big deal but it's such a delight to unwrap them if they were. 4)The paint pans are loosely set in the box cavities that they come off too easily and can fall off as well 5) Names/Codes for the colours should have been printed behind the pans which would make it easier to see and replace if required. CONCLUSION: If you are a beginner or just don't want to spend on expensive artist grade paints, these are for you. They easily beat W&N Cotman. If you are looking at something similar, then there's White Nights 12 pan set, Gansai Tambi & Sennelier 8 pan set.

Highly recommended for beginners and professionals
Thank you Amazon for making this worthy product available for us. This watercolour set has 12+3 rich and creamy shades which are more than enough for day to day painting. Pros:- budget friendly. I already spent good amount of money on watercolour sets such as White Nights 36full pan, Mission Gold 24 sets, Daniel Smith 15half pans, QOR 18 and Sennelier! I recommend this watercolour set as true all rounder. It comes with super handy compact yet sturdy palette which is top most travel friendly palette. Colours are smooth and creamy which improves painting experience. Bright yet transparent which surprises this price range. I think Van Gogh sets are underrated just because it comes with a label of student grade. However I feel this sets are far better than student grade and competes Sennelier and Daniel smith. White nights I consider outstanding in terms of brightness and texture. Cons:- pans are loose and easily fall while lifting paint. Freebie brush could be better. Rest I am satisfied with my purchase.

Vibrant colors but highly priced for Rs 4000.
Very nice set of colors, but i got them at a bargain of Rs 1800 in Dec 2018. Rs 4000 for a set seems too much!.. The colors are good for glazing n wet on wet but not soo much for granulating effects.

Beginner-Friendly Watercolors with Vibrant Colors!
I recently bought the Vangogh Pack of 12 Watercolors with the 3 Pocket Box and Brush #6, and I’m loving it! 🎨 The colors are incredibly vibrant, adding a beautiful pop to my artwork. The compact pocket box makes it super easy to carry around, and the included brush is perfect for detail work. This set is fantastic for all skill levels, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist. It’s user-friendly and ideal for anyone just starting with watercolors. Highly recommend—definitely worth the price! 🌈✨ -SushmaS

An incredibly satisfying purchase.
I have longed these paints for the greatest amount of time. Royal Talens advertises Van Gogh as their “Student Grade” set, which it is, but in many ways it beats the better artist grade ones as well. I have seen an 18 pan set go for over 6,000 Rs at an art store, so a 15 pan set at this price is a steal. —Delivery; Prompt and in good condition. It was a delight to unwrap the package and see that gorgeous white compact set. —Product; These paints come in a minimal plastic box set, with an attached palette and a #6 brush. The colours are printed on a transparent sheet which you can stick inside the box (as I did) in case of reference. The palette is detachable. The short hand brush is NOT a cheap freebie, but an actually sturdy and pointy asset, I almost don't use my other brushes when using these paints, that's how great the quality of this one brush is. Holds pigment really well and retains it's shape. —Paints; Paints itself are gorgeous. Translucent, vibrant and lightfast. It's almost like a dream to paint with them. The colours mix really well and only a little can go a long way. Plenty of variations of the primaries which is ideal for creating multiple other colors. There is no Ivory Black in this set, but instead a beautiful Payne's Grey, which has easily become my favourite, owing to it's dark blue undertones and the variations in mood it gives. These are amazing, no doubt. —Downsides; Apart from the paints themselves, one major downside is that this set isn't suitable for travel. Since the pans are placed loosely in box cavities, they come off easily or sometimes stick to the attached palette when the box is turned upside down. Incredible bummer if you're planning to do some plein air on the go, unless you can come up with a jugaad. :) Otherwise, these paints are gorgeous. If you can't go afford those high end artist grade paints yet, just go for this as it will give you the best of both worlds and hopefully serve as a bridge for when you decide to upgrade. Attached are some of my paintings. My instagram is @ice.tii (don't copy/steal)

Highly recommended for a beginner
These watercolors pack a punch, although these are quoted as student grade but they certainly feel better then just student grade. They do bloom and the colors are vibrant. They got all the important 12 colors to learn basic color mixing and extra 3 complimentary godets. The palette itself is very smartly designed and has 6 mixing wells which can be taken out for more versatility. The entire set can be slipped inside a back pocket. Very impressed with the purchase !

WONDERFUL SET
Good quality watercolours. They activate very easily, layer well and blend beautifully. Selection of colours is also good, with a useful choice of warm and cool ones. Would definitely recommend this! The only con I find is, the brush, when attached to the handle, doesn't stay put and keeps coming off easily, making it slightly difficult to paint with. Well packed and delivered on time. Thank you.
