Great for beginners and intermediate potters
For the price, this thing works ridiculously well. It will slow down noticeably while you're centering 6 lbs or more, but once your clay is centered, you're not going to be applying much force while pulling walls so it's not an issue. The minimum speed is maybe 40 rpm, which is generally much slower than I ever need. It won't slow to a crawl like a Shimpo, but it's like 1/8th the cost. For a beginner/intermediate potter, it's perfect. If you're a professional, you want a $1000 wheel.

A great hobby gift. Durable, fun, and affordable. Great buy.
This was purchased as a gift for my grand daughter. She was absolutely thrilled when she received it for Christmas. After months of using it, she has told me that it was one of her favorite presents. She sent us pictures of the many different items she made and continues to use it almost every weekend. The quality was amazing and so far has proven to be very durable and easy to use. She likes the fact that she can plug it in on the back porch or in he hobby room and run it on regular 120v. power. My daughter was mad at me for getting it for my granddaughter because she feared it would be loud, but it has been very quiet so she has now forgiven me. LOL The speed of the platform allows for some very creative items to be formed and decorated. Very happy with this purchase.

Nice wheel but understand its not a professional machine!
First I want to start with the biggest pet peeve I have with this wheel, even when the pedal is completely off the wheel still turns! The only way to get it to stop fully is to actually switch the machine off. With that being said, I do think this is an excellent wheel for what it is. A beginner wheel or to use for classes I think this wheel would be excellent for. Even if you’re a seasoned potter and you’re looking for a second light portable wheel for your studio this is probably it. You will not be throwing anything massive, mugs, bowls, and plates is about your max with this wheel, the wheel can hardly handle centering a pound of clay so anything more than that I just don’t foresee this wheel being able to handle. Again, I think this is a great product and it has it’s purpose and place but do not buy this thinking it’s going to replace a $1,000.00 professional wheel, it’s not.

Above expectations
Above expectations. Very heavy and sturdy. I was able to put legs on and easily level it, so it is balanced and quiet. Even though the basin is split into two halves and doesn't fit tightly together on the sides, it did not leak or cause an issue. Easy to use, the pedal makes it easy to control speed, spins in either direction for left and right handed. The split basin makes it easy to clean up. I am very happy with this purchase. No regrets.

Sent me a used, warped wheel
There are several variations of this wheel available from different sellers with slightly different features. I took a chance on this one because it looked very similar to a couple of the budget wheels that had been reviewed on pottery channels, as well as Seth Rogan for Wired, but this had a corded foot petal instead of a handle. As soon as I opened the box i could see that the machine was dirty, and only had one layer of bubble wrap protecting it in the box that it had almost broken through. There was no manual, warranty or paperwork of any kind. The ‘bonus’ tool items had been stuffed into the motor cavity in between the wires and housing. Despite the fact that the machine had clearly been scuffed, used with more than 1 kind of clay body & put back into the box without being cleaned, I withheld judgment until I set it up. After using a level with the adjustable feet and plugging it in I checked the feel of the wheel and used a laser level to check the wheel plate. You could feel, and see that the wheel or shaft had been warped or bent. I expected a budget machine, and it is. It is not difficult to move, which is good because on the floor it is awkwardly low to use, even for a child. This would be most comfortable up on bricks / a base / a table top. The wheel itself is covered in tiny grooves which felt much more abrasive than a standard full size wheel. You would have to drill your own bat holes or attach one with clay if you wish to use same. The plastic basin snaps around the shaft and clearly does not seal so would require frequent emptying / lots of cleanup if you are not a clean thrower. All that said I would have taken this entry level wheel at this price if it wasn’t a dirty, damaged machine. It appears that someone else ordered this, used it, discovered the defect, returned it, and then the seller jammed some tools into the motor and sent it to me. Returned for a refund, will order similar wheel but definitely use a different seller - based on comments I saw AFTER ordering this, this isn’t the first time they have knowingly tried to pass off defective equipment to someone.

Works well, gets the job done.
Good wheel for the price. A little short. I had to get a small stool to work with it. Otherwise it gets the job done. I have a small kiln, so, I don’t need a big wheel or a big motor.

Best Customer Support Ever
The device is made very well, but unfortunately we could not use the device for more than 2 minutes, because the device supported 110V instead of 220V. I always study the information about the device, but I did not find any information on the site. When I received the device, the range of 110V-250V was written in the package, so I confidently connected the device to the network without knowing what awaited me next. As a result, the controller unit burned out. The support service is very friendly, and tried in every way to help resolve the issue. I am writing this review precisely because this is probably the best support I have encountered, it even seemed to me that there were people there who were worried about my problem as if I were their close friend. It was very nice to see such interest in my problem.

I am actually very pleased with this item. It works great for now (I have it for about 2 months now) it s strong and fast enough. I am absolute beeginer with throwing, I watch tutorials and try. I am so pleased with the price because it is 10 times cheaper than any wheel I could buy here.
