RUFFWEAR Bark'n Boots Skyliner Dog Shoes Grey

After searching high and low on t'internet as it seems Ruffwear have stopped making these boots, I finally found what appears to be the last box of 4 in the Uk in this size. We have been using this for our yellow Lab Toffee for years after she had the outside toe on her right front paw amputated. As a result her paw rolls outwards and she ends up walking on the remaining bone which used to get red raw and very sore. These boots, used with the Ruffwear socks as the insides of the boots can be rough, give just the right amount of cushioning with the rubber sole so Toff doesn't limp. Other boots we have tried are too big so she trips over them or they don't have the secure Velcro fastening and elasticated cuff so they don't stay in place. These are perfect and we will now guard the last 4 very carefully!

When using this as they were meant to be used (for running on pavement/ sharp gravel), they have worked great for my Alaskan Husky, as we bikejor in the shoulder seasons.These are not meant to add grip on ice/snow, nor are they meant to be used inside as a bunch of people have complained about.I like them.

Our yellow labrador retriever has an injury to one of his paws. Due to his age, and the benign nature of the issue--corrective surgery is not an option. Because these boots have a nice rubberized sole, he is able to walk pain-free, keeps his paw dry & debris free. I would highly recommend as an option for a pet with a healing or persistent paw injury.

We have a staffordshire bull terrier (about a 35lb pitbull), and he kicked these off everytime he had them on. They were awesome and super durable, but we ended up needing ones that tightened higher on his leg. They just don't go up high enough to stay on the dog if they put up any type of fit.

I bought this to protect my hardwood floors (some less-rugged boots I tried fell apart and nails protruded, defeating the purpose). I do not recommend for this purpose, simply because it is rather rigid, making it uncomfortable for indoor use, and goes "clop clop" all over the floor, and doesn't have a great tread pattern for floors.More importantly, there are *major design flaws* which will affect anyone. The build and solidity of this product made it seem very promising out of the box. But the velcro closure is simply too low on the boot. It's in the crook of the paw, where it doesn't hold anything. You have to cinch it VERY tight to hold, and even then it slides right off with any minor digging motion. This should be a *secondary* closure, like with their larger boot, and up instead of the elastic band it should be a wider, soft velcro strap to do the bulk of the holding. Also, the opening is very tight, making it hard to get on. It should have split or telescoping sides like some of this manufacturer's other boots do. The tread is also too much a solid block of rubber and would do better being flexible. Overall, the boot is basically a thick, rigid lump that doesn't stay on, probably ideal for outdoor protection but not for comfort or extended use. A couple of tweaks to the design and it could be more flexible, easy to put on, and hold on better. It could be a superb boot, but isn't in its current state.

Im Gegensatz zu den anderen Bewertungen bin ich absolut begeistert von den Schuhen:Wir haben viele Lösungsversuche für unseren Rüden hinter uns, der sich beim Spazierengehen die Krallen abschleift ( Folge eines irreversiblen Wirbelsäulenschadens)..dies sine die ersten Schuhe, die sitzen, die er sich nicht ausziehen kann, die nicht gleich kaputt sind...und waschbar sind sie auch noch. Da wir nur 2 brauchen ist auch der Preis völlig ok: Ein Paar für drinnen damit er mehr Halt an den Hinterbeinchen hat und ein Paar für draußen zum Krallen-Schonen!!NUR VORSICHT: Die Größen sind bei Amazon nicht korrekt angegeben, Ihr müsst die BREITE der Pfote messen und dann bei den in Amazon aufgeführten LÄNGEN schauen, dann passts völlig und im Zweifel immer die kleiner Größe. Wer's nicht verstanden hat kann die Schuhe auch einfach googlen und bei anderen (teurerer) Anbietern nach der Größe spickeln...:)
