healthy, flavorful snack
My husband is a very healthy eater, and I bought these as a snack option for him. They were really flavorful and healthy option with protein. Would buy again.

Expensive and taste is just okay
These nuts are just okay for me. The package contains a relatively small quantity for a relatively high price. If they were super delicious, I would understand, but to me they are just okay and I can barely taste the seasoning. So these may be healthy, but I don’t plan to order them again. Three stars.

Manual harvested, labor intensive process, awesome nutrition profile.
I’ve traveled through South America tasting the wonderful flavors and snacks. I love Brazilian Nuts, Sacha Inchi and had never tried the Baru Nut until now. They are typically wild foraged after the fruit falls from the tree and boiled until the nut is extracted so the “gathering of these nuts” is labor intensive. They have a wonderful nutritional profile that has much less fat and more fiber than most other nuts. They also boost good levels of potassium, magnesium, copper and zinc. They taste (at least to me) more like a cashew. These were BBQ smoked mesquite flavor and they taste good, lightly seasoned.

Interesting different nut option
I've honestly never heard of Baru nuts before, but being a nut eater in general, I wanted to give these a try. The nuts themselves taste like they're likely less fatty than other nuts, leaving a sort of drier sensation when eating. It's not unpleasant, but is definitely a different experience. The flavoring on these seemed a bit of a waste: I did not really get a smoky flavor experience as the seasoning did not seem to stick very well, so I'd have been just as happy if these were unflavored or just lightly salted. I am hoping an improved supply becomes available for these as a nut option as more common nuts will get you around pound for the same price that the package of around 4 ounces was. If these are truly as healthy as claimed, I'd really enjoy integrating them into the rotation of nuts to have on hand if the cost can be brought to a more competitive level.

Needs more flavor
These nuts need more of the seasoning. The bag I had barely had the mesquite BBQ flavoring that they were a disappointment to eat. Second, I don’t like that most of the nuts had its skin intact and it was hard to remove the skin when I tried. So I was left with no choice but to eat the nuts with its skin on. Lastly, these tasted nothing like a mix of peanut & a cashew. Yes, it has the crunch that it claims but that’s about it. These taste like those large Brazilian nuts that are mostly left over after people have picked through a mixed nut tray. For me, I didn’t care for this product and the price was a bit much for what you get. Had it had more of a flavor profile (MORE seasoning) and came skinless, I may have enjoyed them more. Hard pass on these nuts!

Tastes ok
They looked like over-roasted peanuts when I first opened the bag, but they were ok. They were well-sealed and fresh. They tasted ok, but I am not overimpressed. They are not really Brazilian nuts, in case you didn’t know, like me, what baru nuts are. The price is a bit steep for a one-serving bag.

3 cheers and 10 stars! A tasty nut and a company with a visionary mission
I had never heard of Baru nuts so I ordered this sample; nuts are my go-to snack. They are quite tasty with a satisfying crunch. The Baru nut is denser than a pistachio nut, somewhat like an almond. But - unlike almonds, Baru nut trees don't require a huge amount of water (another plus.) Since the nut is quite dense, it may not be suitable for those with delicate dental work. The nuts are high in protein, lower in fat than many other nuts and high in fiber and antioxidants. They are grown in the Amazonian regions of Bolivia and Brazil. The trees are drought and fire resistant, efficient carbon converters and nitrogen fixing, creating healthy soil. My 10 stars is for the visionary mission of this company. They partner with 4EverForest to plant millions of trees in Bolivia; 40,000 in their first year alone. They practice regenerative agriculture and the trees are integrated into existing forests. No monoculture or large plantations, which can have a devastating effect on fragile rainforest ecology. Through this partnership, Baruvida also helps Amazonian people achieve self-determination, planting the trees and harvesting the nuts. I recommend visiting their website. One of the videos brought tears to my eyes (tears of hope.) I recommend these tasty super-food nuts and hope to see them in grocery stores nation-wide. Thank you!
