Good thermometer. Some slight variation in temperature based on distance, but measuring from the same distance each time you can still measure relative to the other measurements.Ignore the reviews that say you can't take room temp or other objects. You just hold the 'mem' button as per instructions.You can also take your own temperature with it. The temperature displays for a few seconds. If you're slower you could just check it in the mirror.
