PolarPro - Shortstache - Everyday - 1/4 Strength Black Mist - 82mm

Bought for my Fuji X100VI together with the Haoge filter adapter. Very well made product with the green knurled outer ring to adjust the circular polariser. Polarising effect is quite subtle. The mist effect is quite strong for highlights (as expected) and subtle for evenly lit scenes. It's expensive but as you essentially get two filters in one, I think it's actually good value. Also comes in a nice sturdy case if you were to ever need to remove from your camera (which I doubt I will). Would recommend. Added a photo taken with the filter that is SOOC to show the bloom effect.

Great everyday filter, black mist superb for those soft highlights. Fits well with standard threading. Polariser is easy to use and control. The filter doesn’t cut any light and has good brightness. Not the cheapest but great quality and should last well when used in the field.

I’m using this on a GFX100S, with 102MP sensor. The build quality is excellent, but the bloom effect is a little weaker than I desire, and create off effects around light sources. Having a very in focus sharp light source with a bloom effect around it can look odd sometimes. The slight blur/softness of the image is going to be a deal breaker for some people, but this is really person preference. I find the filter works best on overcast days or in more null looking environments. It can make things look a little more interesting with a Blade Runner/Cyber Punk feel, instead of boring.

I really like this filter. It’s a combination circular polariser and 1/4 strength black mist, which are 2 filters I use consistently in my photography, and often in my video work too. Having them both in one filter is ideal, and this version has excellent optical clarity and build quality. My first copy took a regrettable fall and got scratched, but I like it so much I had to immediately order another one! Highly recommended.

This is a surprise to be honest I thought it was a tad expensive but it works very well . Won’t really rotate easily with this hood on but not only will this act as it should as a CPL etc it also protects the lens . With no obstructions like hoods easy to use and simple to get on and off although just may Leave it . Somlleased they do it in a 43mm size

Tried out the PolarPro x Shortstache 1/4 filter with a few test shots at home and I’m really impressed. It gives a subtle cinematic glow without overdoing it, keeps the image sharp, and adds a nice polish straight out of camera. Excited to see how it performs on real shoots.

Do NOT try to screw this on to the Haoge Lens Hood / Adapter - the lens hood doesn’t fit because of the serrated edge of the filter, and because of the rotating mechanism it was almost impossible to remove. I had to go at it with a flat head screwdriver damaging the lens paint in the process. Very annoying!
