Great grinder

Perfect for a single user. Premium design.

I love the feel of it. Easy to load. Easy to adjust the fine/coarse settings. Easy to make it central to my morning routine. I need about 20 twists of the handle for a strong mug of coffee. Bicycle action. Bang it on the counter so particles clinging to the burr drop into the cup. Heavenly aroma when unscrewing the cup. I will never need another grinder.

I was using a Baratza before, and I've used the original Skerton. The E&B burrs in the Timemore are very fast and seem to produce fairly uniform grounds for the price point. It takes ~32 revolutions to grind 15g of light roast beans, so if I start the kettle, I have time to weight out the beans, grind them, and setup the V60 by the time the water's ready to pour. My only complaint (I considered giving it 4 stars), is the grounds catch has a little lip which can make it harder to get 100% of the ground coffee out.

Prior to this, I had a much cheaper grinder that took forever to grind up even 15g of coffee. This grinder will do it in about 25ish seconds which is insane. Very consistent grind size, and overall very well built grinder. It feels solid and like it will last for a long time. It also travels very nicely; I fly for a living and needed something that would take up very little real estate in my bag. Since it fits inside my aeropress, it doesn’t hardly take up any more room. I only have one gripe about this grinder, and that is that it produces a pretty significant amount of static electricity. So if you don’t spray your beans with a tiny bit of water, you’re gonna have ground coffee stuck around the inside of the little catch canister at the bottom. A little spritz of water plus a couple of knocks after grinding and the problem is solved.
