This isn't really barbecue sauce, so don't use it as such. It is much thinner and has more of the flavoring of sweet soy sauce or teriyaki sauce. It would be perfect for serving with a bento box, but not with your barbecue chicken.

Very tangy great

We tried the Original flavor today. It looks to be more like a marinade. I expected something like Sweet Baby R*y’s BBQ sauce. XD It tastes sweet and reminds me of teriyaki sauce, but it has the consistency of soy sauce. It has a soy sauce flavor in it, too. I didn’t know that and I’d already made the dough for a pizza, so I used cornstarch to thicken the sauce and made BBQ sauced pizza. It was really good. I love the flavor. We’ll have it again. Maybe I’ll try some on some stir fry noodles?The two bottles come in a neat looking box with a tiger on it. I think this does a lot to make sure the bottles got to me okay. The bottles open on the bottom, have a safety seal and a silicone thing on the pouring hole that is cut with an “X”. Pour it straight down. If it’s angled just a little, you will get sauce everywhere (like I did.).I like! I recommend!

These Japanese sauces are pretty thin, but they have a good flavor. My husband loves soy sauce and he loves these. We marinated some chicken with one and grilled it and it tasted really good. I do love the fun packaging!

So I put this soy sauce out for a few people to try and to see if they can tell a difference between three different soy sauces. Most of them could not tell any significant difference between the soy sauce flavors. But most did like the citrus soy sauce more than a normal soy sauce or the barbecue flavor. I do like the idea of flavored soy sauce, I think it adds some fun to any meal. I will say I absolutely hate the containers that these come in which is why I'm docking a star. You have to put considerable Force to spray the soy sauce out from the container, and that means that the soy sauce comes out with a lot of force. I've never had so much soy sauce splash all over my table just trying to get it out of the container. Please change the container that these are in.

I was a little concerned that this would just taste like soy sauce, but that is not the case. It's actually delicious and different.I had marinated a block of tofu for several days in the fridge (red wine mixed with the highest rated Italian salad dressing here on Amazon.....I meant to cook it the next day but we ended up going out for dinner, blah blah blah). Anyway, despite all of that marination, we cooked the tofu in olive oil and it was savory but very bland. Fortunately, that day this wonderful BBQ juice (it's more of a juicy consistency than a thick BBQ sauce) arrived and WOW! It made all the difference! We tossed the tofu back in the frying pan and squeezed some of the original sauce on it--and it tasted fantastic!Next time I will definitely use this BBQ sauce to marinate the tofu in the first place!Recommended....
