Great product at very attractive price!
I generally don't write reviews, but I do use them to select products from Amazon. I felt I should review this product, since some of the reviews I had read expressed difficulty in arrival condition, assembly, or water resistance. I purchased two (2) of these Deck Boxes. The deck box parts arrived in excellent condition and after identifying/separating the pieces prior to assembly, I proceeded to assemble the unit. One person can easily do this assembly, but care should be taken that the correct parts are used at each assembly step, since there are little/no screws/bolts used.....the box assembles by each part being inserted and snapped in place. Once the snap locks in place, disassembly to correct a mistake is difficult at best and may damage the entire product. The assembly took about 12 minutes the first time and about 8 minutes for the second box (based on experience gained with box#1). The box looks great...both the shape, wicker resin detail, and Mocha color. The box has a good storage capacity, but this depends on the thickness of your cushions. I have 2 thick chaise lounge cushions in one box and have some room to spare for 1-2 chair cushions. The other box is similarly filled. Water-resistance: The boxes are out in the open on my lanai and one box has never gotten any visible water inside or even the appearance of just dampness on the bottom. The other box tends to get rains striking at an angle towards the front side and top. This box picked up just a little water/dampness, which I attribute to the water intruding by the lock/clasp area. This is really minor given the heavy rains that they were recently subjected to. Now that I know about that minor entry way for water, I can easily monitor the situation. Overall, I would say the curved top and solid plastic surrounding walls make this unit very water-resistant. I attribute the negative reviews about water-resistance from other reviewers to be the result of bad assembly. This unit is nearly $50.00-$100.00 less expensive than comparable units I have seen in the stores, etc. A great, good-looking buy! I may buy another one or two for other outdoor needs.

Good quality, easy to put together.
I purchased one of these in Brown a couple of years ago for patio cushions and live in Phoenix in the heat. It has held up very well and is quite sturdy. Protected him from the rain also. I am a 71 years old woman and put this white one together myself in about an hour at the most. This one isn’t just for cushions it’s for some small garden tools and pool toys, towels, etc. so I also purchased three Square crates to go inside for organization. I’m very happy with how sturdy it is. It is also larger than some of the others I looked at and is perfect for me.

So far, so good
Looked around a number of local stores and online retailers for these style boxes and we bought a couple from amazon. They will live year round outside under a covered porch in Northern Georgia temperatures (highs 20s - mid 90s). Only had them for a couple weeks, but they are holding up nicely as they have survived our recent cold snap without issue. Here are the pros/cons: Pros: - Went together REALLY easily. Built two in about 30 minutes (including unboxing time). It's all plastic-resin "snap-on" connections, so tools really are not needed - Packaging was solid and pieces are well crafted. Of the two, there was only one small scratch on the back of one of the panels. No big deal as it will be against a wall and I'm sure being outside, they will take a bit more abuse in their lives. The coloring was all uniform and it really looks like wicker. - I was a bit worried when I saw it was all "snap-on" type connections, but once built, I was very impressed with the stability of the units. Although advertised as a seat as well, I was skeptical that it would hold my weight (6'2" 215 lb), but it did with no flexing. - Appears to be pretty waterproof - time will tell, but since it's plastic/resin, the wicker is just decorative, and it's a solid panel underneath. Some of the other we looked at we're actually wicker and permeable. Cons: - Some of the others we looked at had nicer pneumatic style hinges that opened and closed a little more easily. These are just simple hinged lids... they are light weight, and plenty easy to open. - As it's all "snap-on", i'm a little concerned that the plastic may warp a bit in the Georgia heat, but time will tell. Overall, very pleased and would order again. They are available at local big box stores if you want to check them out, but as usual, amazon beats their prices by about 10%. UPDATE (1/2015): Nearly two years later, and these boxes are both still perfect. I have had one under a patio roof outside and the other directly exposed to the elements. Both look identical with no noticeable fading, warping, etc. They are both still watertight, and have done a great job of keeping our supplies clean and dry. When the boxes themselves get dirty, I just hose them down and occasionally use a brush with some dish soap (after pollen season) and they look brand new. Highly recommended.

Careful with Hinge Pins
Overall, I am pleased with this purchase. It is a sturdy box that was easy to assemble (less than 10 minutes) and should do the job I need it to do: store outdoor cushions. Contrary to what some other reviewers have said, I like that the resin wicker design is not a true weave but just a design from cast resin (which is what I expected from a resin box). The fact that the box is solid and not woven means little chance for dust, dirt, small leaves, etc. to enter into the box. Two things that were disappointing, and why I have given 4 stars instead of 5: 1) I saw the same box by the same manufacturer in a larger capacity (122 gallons instead of 99) at Costco this past week for only $99. I had just ordered my box from Amazon for $107 and it was already on its way, otherwise I would have gone with the Costco one. 2) Steps 7 and 8 of the instructions advise you to hammer the hinge pin into the "fully inserted position" if needed. Unfortunately, there is not a detail diagram to show what is "fully inserted." Our hinge pins seemed like they were not flush, so we hammered them until they seemed to click into place. Once this was done, we realized they were probably in the right position before we hammered them. Now there is no contact/support on one side of the hinge pin. The lid still operates just fine, but we will have to be somewhat careful when opening it not to put too much strain on the hinges (by opening the lid wide) or they might fail. Luckily the hinge straps will help in this regard. Just wanted to put this note in so others don't make the same mistake we did.

WARNING!
This is a great product. I was pleased with the appearance and the price of this box. It is assembled and outside to hold pool noodles, goggles, swimmies and other items. When I received the box I opened it and took out all of the pieces that were shown in the instructions. I then saw how easily it would fit together and proceeded without reading the directions, HUGE MISTAKE! I learned that if you do not put the pieces together in the order the instructions specify, you will not be able to fit the other pieces together. The BIGGER issue is that you can't take the pieces apart again. They are designed to click together and not come apart again. I used screw drivers, muscle, extra hands, EVERYTHING! I started researching taking apart the box and found that everyone says it can't be taken apart again. I called SUNCAST and spoke to a specialist that told me that unfortunately it is not designed to come apart. She suggested that I could try with a second person, screw drivers and several butter knives. I told her that I had to throw it out with only 3 pieces together. I did run to Kmart and bought a second one that night. I followed the directions and it was so simple to put together. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!! I am fortunate enough to have a father that has ancient bizarre tools and a brain like a genius. He was able to figure something out to fix my first purchase. I am more than happy to have 2 now. I can honestly say that most people would have had to throw the box out, I got lucky. I also purchased 2 of the 22 gallon boxes with seats that went together easily!

Great features - beautiful, functional, easy to assemble, and weatherproof!
I purchased this product to store our patio chair cushions, and the 99 gallon capacity was the perfect size to accommodate cushions for a total of ten chairs. Six of the cushions were seat cushions, while the other four were cushions that cover both the seat and the back of the chairs. I stored the four larger cushions in their unfolded position and stacked them and put the other six cushions on top in two stacks of three, and they fit with room to spare. Before I purchased this item, I measured all of our cushions (length, width, and thickness) and determined that this deck box was the optimal size based on the dimensions provided in the description. The other nice feature is that the cushions stayed completely dry in spite of heavy rains which hit us today. In fact, there does not appear to be much of an opportunity for moisture to enter the deck box. The only real opening is located underneath the handle where you lift the lid, and no water has entered it yet. I live in Chicago where storms are common and winters can be brutal. Someone else from the Northeastern United States mentioned that they keep this box out during the winter, and I plan to do the same. I am not an extremely handy guy, but I put this together in less than 15 minutes. The only negative that I can think of to mention is that the instructions use letters to identify the lid, side, and bottom, but none of my pieces had a sticker with a letter on them. However, it's pretty obvious which parts are which from the pictures. We have a cedar deck, and the color contrast the deck box provides is really beautiful. If you are looking for a deck box for a similar use, you will not be disappointed!
