The outer material has a nice soft side. I like that the rice is in four separate segments so the heat stays evenly dispersed. It kept the lavender smell for several uses, but as you might expect, this fades over time. I didn't really care about the lavender, so I was fine with that. Holds heat as long as any rice bag. Overall, good quality and great for sore muscles or just staying warm!

A friend gave me a rice filled heating pad that she had made and I really liked it but it was a bit small. It was the first time I ever used something other than a gel pad that you heat in the microwave and those always start leaking after a year or two. I wanted to get another rice type bag - a bit bigger - and went looking on here. For the price, I was not expecting much. I thought it would be cheap, shiny, plastic "velvet" and be... well I didn't expect much but thought it would do. I opened the box and was amazed! This is wonderful, soft real velvet. It is a good size and looks expensive and "hand made". The heat really is somewhat moist, unlike gel heating pads. And I microwave longer then the directions - one minute each side. Yes, it doesn't stay warm that long - maybe 45 minutes - but I like to use it as a foot warmer at the end of the bed and it is perfect for that. Another thing I really like is that the cover is just thick and soft enough so that I don't have to wrap it in a towel or something. Yes, it has a faint odor of like lavender and mint. Not enough to be offensive or pleasant - just a little fragrance. This is one of those things that I think I will have and keep the rest of my life - and you can't say that about many products these days.

It works alright if you want just a small amount of heat on you, it is scented but over time the scent starts smelling a little off.

This thing is great. The size is good and it works well. Very comforting. The heat doesn’t last as long as a plug in heating pad obviously, but I’d say the warmth stays for a good while before needing to reheat.

Loved the lavender scent and the material. Also liked that the cover was removable for washing. But it was a lot smaller than I expected. I guess that’s on me for just looking at the reference photos and not the actual measurements.

I included this in a gift bag and it worked well. Heats up easily and is relaxing to use.

I fractured my wrist and needed something small to wrap around, loosen it up, and help it heal. This fits the bill perfectly. I microwave it for 1 minute and 5 seconds, and it's ready to go. Holds heat well, smells good, but that will fade with time.
