A-Premium Hood Lift Supports Shock Struts Compatible wiht Lexus LS400 1998-2000 Sedan

I bought these hood shocks for my Lexus and decided to take a chance on them since they were so well priced. They were over a hundred dollars more from Lexus and these shocks are just a sturdy and easy to install as stock shocks and have worked perfectly! After over a year installed they are just as good as new! Great product, great price!

Not sure how long they’ll last cause I just put them on, but it was a perfect fit and easy to install.

These seem to be a good replacement for factory lifts. Easy to install and work fine so far.

While they are not comparable in quality to the original Lexus LS400 Tokico hood support (53440-59035), they are a great value for the money. When only one original shock costs five times the price of this one set. The shock rod isn't as thick as the original one- and the shock body has an unsightly plastic cover near the end- but it held up the hood properly. The ball-joint hardware screws are the proper thread-pitch and installed just like stock. It seems to be a quality set.

Seems to be a really good product. Rating based on product design. Everything fits perfectly, but the gap between the strut end caps and the affixed washer is too small to get fingers in between to start the bolts. They either need smaller end caps, as per the original equipment, or use a standard washer instead of an affixed washer. That way you can start the bolts with your fingers. What should have been a 10-15 minute job took about 30-40 because of this issue. But everything fits and works perfectly and if they last half as long as the original struts, I will be very happy.

It takes a bit of head scratching to get the order of installation correct so everything fits as it should.

Got these for a 1999 ls400, both hood supports went out. These hood supports were easy to install, and is very good quality. Automatically lifts hood up smoothly and is stiff enough to hold up the hood.

I got these for my 1998 Lexus LS400. I was using a stick to hold up the hood. The hood is pretty heavy. These hold it up with no problem, one by itself was almost enough to hold up the hood--so yeah they are pretty strong struts. So far I am very happy with these.
