I used these in my deep water hydroponic system, putting them in holes in polystyrene that I cut with a hole saw. Rockwool was easy to work with. Did the job I wanted.

This is the first time I’ve tried hydroponics so I’m rather curious to see how well it works. I’ve planted some sunflower seeds in the plugs & pots and am using the wicks to keep them watered in the greenhouse. The seeds are showing signs of life. I need to read a bit more about hydroponics to know what type of nutrients I’ll need to add to the water when they get true leaves. Once they reach a few inches they’ll be transferred to soil in pots to grow on. If it all works, this is an easier way of raising larger seeds before potting on. Time will tell. I’ll try some cuttings when it time to prune.

This is a useful set for hydroponics. The stonewool material is a little messy and made everything in the kit a little dusty/ dirty but - a little dirt is all part and parcel of growing, so it's not a problem. I actually ordered this for an alternate use than hydroponics: I wanted to use the mesh net cups / baskets to protect direct-sown beans and peas. Come spring time when I direct sow my beans & peas, mice notoriously like to feast on them before they have a chance to come up. So I'm hoping to use these net cups as protection over the beans to deter creatures from digging them up and eating them. I'm going to pin these down into the soil with string and weed-membrane-pegs / u-shaped tent pegs. Hopefully it will work! I will use the nice thick wick to tie up plants that need a stronger support than twine can provide. And I'll have a go using the starter plugs for seed-starting once the season starts. It would be good if the seller mentioned what type of palstic the cups were made from (eg polyproplyene? something else?) because some plastics can leach microplastics more than others, which is particularly important if you're growing food crops.

Erm looks nice in pics but is just rock wool little black pots wich are no good unless u doing hydro cuttings .. and bits of mop aka wicks to soak fluid up not wat I expected but the rice wool did the job .

Li ho utilizzati per far germinare piante di zucchine ( come da foto ). Il risultato è stato ottimo! C'è tutto l'essenziale per cominciare, ed è abbastanza facile ed intuitivo anche per un principiante. Per idroponica si intende una tipologia di coltivazione senza l'utilizzo del terreno, ed è esattamente a questo che serve questo kit. Anche se sembra poco, il contenuto vi basterà per iniziare a sperimentare. C'è da dire che il prezzo forse è un po' altino, considerata la quantità di prodotto, ma tutto sommato non è neanche poi così male.

j'utilise ces petits cubes de laine de roche dans ma tour hydroponique c'est une petite tour que j'ai imprimé en 3D les mèches sont assez longues et les cubes ne se détricotent pas trop dans les petits pots.

Hält das Wasser gut. Habe mir aber angewöhnt die Wollblöcke nach unten mehrfach durch zu stechen. Ein Setzling hat die Wurzeln nicht richtig in den Block bekommen und hat die Pflanze hochgedrückt, Pflanze ist dadurch eingegangen.

Este set de 20 macetas hidropónicas con sus mechas de algodón, más 36 bloques de lana de roca es un buen punto de partida para montarte tu propia plantación hidropónica. Es lo que quiero hacer en la ventana de mi cocina, pero aún no he instalado el sistema porque tengo que hacerme con algún recipiente con tapa adecuado para contener el agua de riego. Para la bomba de agua reciclaré una que tengo de un acuario. Comparado con otros sets de macetas y de lana de roca, tiene un precio bastante ajustado.
