MecArmy Keychain Compass CMP (titanium)

It did work, but did not withstand a drop.

Perfect for any hike where cell service is spotty.

I bought this for a keyring EDC. It is certainly robust as is clear from its pictures and specifications, and being a dry compass adds reliability to that (poor quality liquid filled compasses can develop internal bubbles that interfere with readings). It came with a very robust link through which the necklace link chain is thread through. I do not plan wear it as a necklace pendant but would add that the link chain does not appear as correspondingly robust as the compass.The actual magnetic component of the compass is round (it is not a 'needle' compass) so its accuracy can be more of an issue. I verified its directional accuracy by eye-balling it against another, more accurate and GPS verified compass (magnetic direction to a distant object is determined with GPS assistance then the compass is sighted to that object to verify the direction). Since it is a dry compass it does take longer to settle but it does so accurately (the swivelling as it settles was smooth, not jerky).One criticism is that the transparent window protrudes beyond the level of the metal compass body and so is unnecessarily exposed to scratches. I don't know what the window material is but it seems to be a plastic of some kind. I would have given it 5 stars if not for that.

Really love this compass. Awesome build. If anything, the picture does not exactly look like the product I received as the NEWS letters are a bit larger in the actual product.

Mir gefällt dieser Kompass, weil er so klein, kompakt und doch zuverlässig ist. Damit stört er nirgends und wenn man ihn braucht, ist er zur Hand. Ich habe bereits eine ganze Menge verschiedener Kompasse, aber dieser ist mir zu meinem Lieblingskompass geworden. Ich trage ihn an meinem Schlüsselbund, aber man kann ihn auch um den Hals tragen, ... Da ich den Verkäufer kontaktierte, kann ich auch sagen, dass sich dieser um besten Service bemüht.Den Kompass kann ich jedem empfehlen, denn die Himmelsrichtungen zu wissen ist nie verkehrt - und wenn dieser Kompass klein, leicht, zuverlässig und mitunter als (Rucksack-)Deko, ... verwendet werden kann, kann ich diesen nur empfehlen.
