LinkTap Q1 4-Port Smart Water Timer | Requires Gateway | 4 Separate Outlets, Intelligent Irrigation System Controller, Equals 4 G2S or 2 D1 Sprinkler Timers, Mesh Network for Garden/Yard

Been using LinkTap products for a few years now (since 2019) and this unit makes setting up after winter much easier. Originally, I had a system where I used 10 single port LinkTaps to water my lawn. I set up 5 zones in the front yard and 5 zones in the back yard. As one can imagine, this made winterizing the system very time consuming. Additionally, the 10 LinkTaps required 40 AA batteries, two 4 way hose splitters, and 2 2 way hose splitters. Now I have two of the Q1s and 2 single port LinkTaps which only require 8 AA and 4 9v batteries and 2 2 way splitters. This setup significantly reduces chances for a leak in the system and the number of batteries I will have to purchase in the future. These Q1s seem to built with the same high quality that the earlier G1 and G2 models I have been using and I really like the instant on/off manual button on the control unit.

I have tried other valves and nothing works as reliable as LinkTap. I have four valve unit hooked up to my front yard controlling four sprinkler heads hooked up. I control them both with the LinkTap App and Home Assistant. The gateway is in my basement and it still gets a reliable signal to my front and back yards. Skip the other stuff that just breaks down after a season and bite the bullet.

Purchased 2-4 Zone and also an additional single for a total of 9 gardening zones. We have 23 raised gardens and this system was easy to set up and maintain. After much research of different brands so glad we went with LinkTap. Highly recommend!

Works well. This is nice as you can overlap opening multiple zones. The only draw back is the 2 piece design (value controller and value). This is good for limited space but finding a spot to hang/mount the controller may not be possible (this usually means it will sit on the ground). It is nice that the flow meter built in. In tight spaces it can be a bit hard to screw on the value. Only draw back it that it loses it signal some of the time. Weather is not necessary very accurate and there can be misses for rain. I do wish they add in a function for personal weather stations for more accurate weather.

I am really impressed with the Link Tap products and support. I started with a D1 device in 2023, added a second after trying it for a few months. I then needed to add another zone so I got the Q1 in 2025 and put one of the D1s downstream. This allowed me to clean up the distribution cluster to look nicer. I use it mostly for gardens but also to add water to my pool. I am away a lot so the ability to view and manage the devices remotely is critical for me. These have a great ability to function even far from the WIFI device. The Software is easy to use. If they lose connection, they still work, but I cannot monitor until it is regained. What has compelled me to write my review is when I got an error on my Q1 that indicated the water was not flowing. I was home at the time and able to check and the water was indeed flowing. I reached out to Tech support and within 24 hours got a response with an offer to send the parts needed to repair it.
