Chimney Balloon 14 x 24 Inch Medium Chimney Draught Excluder

Wish I had known about them years ago. After installation the room was noticeably warmer, any chimney whistling and debris ceased. Would (and will) buy again for my other defunct victorian chimneys.

Good product, easy to install

Works great and easy to use. I would make sure you put it up the chimney as far as it will go whilst still being able to reach the valve and inflation tube. It may need a top up of air every now and then. I am really pleased with it and it's keeping the warm air in my living room :)

Sadly the balloon didn't stay inflated for more than an hour. I followed the installation instructions. Have returned :(

The attached cable I received for inflating it didn't fit over the pipe part from the balloon. I ended up needed the extension part, which is sold separately. Inflates quickly once I found a suitable cable, but as mentioned was too short to get up to the narrow part of the chimney.

I have a turn of the 20th century 2 up/2 down terraced property and the front room is the only remaining room in the house with an open fireplace. For years I have been wondering if there was a solution to the drafts that come down the chimney - I don't use the fireplace but I like the appearance. Having measured as best I could I bought the 12" x 24" balloon. Fitting was a breeze - positioned it in the correct position and then used the provided tube to inflate it. Difference is like night a day - no more drafts (very noticeable in the wind today!) Highly recommended!

I found it quite fiddly to fit and it kept falling down, but eventually got it to stay up by basically ramming it up the chimney while inflating it (oo-er!). Now in-situ it works very well and has stopped both draughts and stuff falling down the chimney into the fireplace. It doesn't sit nice and neat as in the picture, but does the job.
