BougeRV 23qt review at 10 months
It has been close to a year since I purchased this Fridge, and I want to leave my honest review.Iâve been using the BougeRV 23qt since July 2024 for my Jeep Gladiator, and I can confidently say it has exceeded all expectations. I currently have a 50qt ARB fridge that I use on my off-road teardrop trailer. Comparing to this one to the ARB which is much more expensive, this compact fridge performs extremely well above its weight in performance, reliability, and value.**Cooling Performance:**This fridge cools down *fast*âwithin 15 to 20 minutes, it's already well below refrigeration temps. It consistently maintains temperature even in hotter climates and inside a warm car, which is more than I can say living in AZ, especially during the brutal summer months. I set the average temperature at 25 degrees and have no problems keeping it at that level daily. I have set the temperature at -5 degrees on a few occasions, and it has had no issues at all.**Efficiency:**What really surprised me is how energy-efficient it is. It draws very little power, making it perfect for my overlanding setup and road trips. I've run it for days off a small power station without worry. When the Jeep is not on the go, I have it plugged into my Jackery 500, setting the fridge at 25 degrees and using it constantly for a 6-8 hour period. It only consumed about 40% of the battery life.**Build Quality:**The unit is solidly built and better than I expected. The handle could be made deeper and I can see someone with much larger fingers having difficulty with it when lifting the fridge. The digital controls are intuitive and easy to use, and the LED display is clear even in bright light. It doesn't feel cheap at allâdespite being significantly more affordable than top-tier brands.**Noise Level:**Very quiet. Youâll barely hear it running, which is a big plus if youâre sleeping in your vehicle or nearby.**Portability:**At 23 quarts, it's the perfect size for solo travel or weekend getaways. It holds more than you think, and the compact design means it fits easily in the backseat or trunk.**Final Thoughts:**The BougeRV 23Qt car fridge has worked tremendously well for my needs. Itâs rare to find a product at this price point that can genuinely outperform some of the more expensive competition. Whether you're new to car camping or just looking for a reliable backup, this fridge is a smart buy and I highly recommend it.**The only areas of improvement that I can see are a drain when cleaning/washing, like my ARB fridge, and deeper handles that allow a better grip.

Great seller, great product, glad I made the purchase.
After looking at different brands I decided to purchase the BougeRV 12volt, 23 quart Refrigerator and make the break from using a cooler with ice.BougeRV is a great seller and their web site offers many different products. My 23 quart 12V refrigerator shipped promptly and I received it in perfect condition. It was packaged very well for shipping and included an easy to read manual, the power cord for a standard wall outlet as well as an adapter for a 12v car outlet. As per the instructions, I let it sit for 24 hours before turning it on. It took less than 20 minutes to reach 32 degrees and when ever I adjusted the temperature, it reacted quickly. The controls and display are easy to read and operate plus they are located on the top where they are easy to access. The fridge doesnât weigh much (empty) and it has rubber feet that prevent it from sliding around. That is great for when you are traveling. Itâs compact size allows me to place it where I want in my small camper or in the rear seat of my truck. As I planned on running my 12V refrigerator with a portable power station and a 100 watt solar panel, I was concerned about power consumption. What drew me to the BougeRV 12 volt refrigerator was how low the power draw is in ECO mode. It only draws 45 watts in regular power mode and in ECO mode it draws 36 watts. In ECO mode my food remains at my set temperature and the refrigerator doesn't seem to cycle as much as I thought it would. It is sitting next to my chair and it is so quiet that I keep forgetting that it is running. Since it will be in my camper I am not concerned about it making noise while I sleep. How much you can place into the 23 quart compartment will depend on what you pack and the containers you place your food in. One thing to remember is that even if the compartment looks smaller that the cooler you may have been using, there really is more room because you don't lose cooler space to ice blocks or cubes. Also, not having to worry about your food getting wet due to melting ice is great. I filled the fridge with food to test it and one thing that I noticed is that the food near the top was as cold as the food on the bottom. I used to worry about meats or food near the top of the cooler becoming too warm if they were not close to the ice blocks on the bottom or covered with ice. Now that is no longer an issue and that's a huge win for this 12v refrigerator. You can also use this as a freezer if you so desire.Over all I am very pleased with my purchase. I will update my review after using it while camping.
