Well made and sturdy. Like the instructions on outer cover for use. Tested and works. Would recommend. Best one for a senior; don’t have to be changing batteries all the time.

Easy to install. These are sensitive, and will detect the slightest danger of smoke. I am impressed with the quality, and how well it works! 10 year sealed battery, and it's durable.

Great lighting

It was easy to install and activate. Shipping was fast as well.

The first alarm worked fine for three months. Then it would not stop going off arbitrarily, waking me up, splitting my ears and my dog's. I phoned the company and was able to speak to a Live Person, which was nice. She shipped me a replacement and gave suggestions for cleaning the unit, including by vacuuming. The company needs to fix this problem; I've used First Alerts for decades and never encountered this random excessive sensitivity. We have had no dust or construction around here, although I did vacuum once. The replacement worked for about three weeks and just went off again (a couple days after I vacuumed in nearby rooms), freaking out my dog. I cleaned it with a blow dryer, it worked for a couple of days then went off again. No confidence in this brand now, just agitation. And we can't live without a smoke detector, because if the house burns down insurance won't cover us.
