Q: Do the petsure strips work accurately with this monitor?

I had called Zoetis (AlphaTracII maker) to inquire about setting the code. In the course of our conversation it was emphasized that at the time each set of test strips is manufactured a code is given that must be entered into the AlphaTracII and that this number will appear at the time the device is turned on—if not you need to go through the whole process of using the test glucose drops to reset (as you must do with each new batch of test strips as that code will be different) I would not use any other brand as it would give you a false reading—you could end up with a very sick or dead dog/cat. Call Zoetis yourself to talk to their experts if you want a technical explanation. Good luck—this monitor has enabled me to do glucose readings at home and relay the info to my vet especially valuable when my dog has vomited following his meal and insulin injection. Have also done glucose curve readings at home thus saving the $$ that an all day stay at the vet would cost for the same testing.

Yes, my kit came with 25 test strips and 30 lancets.

Q: what is the size of the lancet?

Length of the needle itself? Or the gauge size? It comes w/ 100 lancets that fit. The needles never hurt my cat when I did it.
