Well built, good sounding, tiny external sound card
I needed an external soundcard to connect my external 5.1 speakers to a new laptop. I'm used to internal soundcards inside desktop PCs so I wasn't sure what to expect. I've now been using the Cubilux for 2 weeks and it is solid, well built and sounds great for streaming movies and boxsets. It is also tiny - much smaller than I expected - but is working well with the new Dell. Power comes from the USB cable and it didn't require any driver updates. All in, sound quality is good, build quality is good, size is v small and there have been no issues. Would happily buy it again.

Works with the Nvidia Shield after 9.2.1 update
I use Logitech z906 surround speakers. Getting them working with the Nvidia Shield is a mixed bag, as some apps will transmit encoded surround over HDMI and others will use PCM or decode the media audio and then transmit PCM. Using the HDMI and an optical cable works fine for the former. But PCM audio is a little trickier. This works as an excellent way to get PCM or decoded surround sound out of the shield and into the speakers. Specifically for game streaming or for Plex or other players that decode the audio. I previously used another USB audio interface but the 9.2 shield update broke the functionality and would only play sound out of the front speakers. Probably because that audio interface was using an ancient chip. This worked right away with zero hassle. The shield immediately recognised it as an audio interface and when selected output surround sound perfect on the first try.

Works perfectly on Windows laptop and MacBook
I bought this so that I could digitise my son's massive collection of audio cassettes, and needed a stereo line-in feed. It works perfectly on both my Windows 10 laptop and my MacBook.

Surprisingly good.
Surprisingly good. Windows 10 had no problem detecting the device, and no drivers were required. Just be aware that you need to plug your audio cables in before it will show up in youu system tray as an output device. The sound volume and quality seems to be equal to that of my motherboard's on board sound card, and with this channelled through my amp, it works really well.

a pretty reasonable device for the money
Having tried other devices to connect my new PC with an old/legacy 5.1 sound system, this one seems to work. Sorting out connections is often quite a laborious task, and this was the case here. However, this device is plug and play and my new pc recognised it without any trouble. You need to work through the set-up which is mainly to be expected, but eventually I got there. I'm not sure the woofer connection is great, but I had been led to believe that there might be some issues and sound degradation, but overall a pretty reasonable device for the money. Also has a handy adaptor for USB ports and there is no additional power supply required.

Brilliant
Cannot believe how good this simple sound card is. I used to have an old Creative labs external unit, but this is way better. Cheap and sounds awesome.

I now have line in on my Windows 11 laptop!
Does what it is supposed to (at least for my purposes). On buying a new windows 11 laptop I found the integrated 3.5mm jack has no line in functionality. This little plug and play box worked a treat. I thought about buying a cheaper one but they didn't have a dedicated line in and I was worried a cheaper one would not have solved my problem. As soon as lead plugged into the line in jack on the box, laptop recognised it as default recording device. The default signal was quite low for the input I was using, but this was easily rectified by adjusting the settings via control panel/sounds. Very happy with this.

Cubilux 7.1 USB Surround Sound Card stopped working
While this Cubilux 7.1 USB Surround Sound Card worked, the device was excellent and helped solve sound problems on my PC. But after a few days it was no longer recognised by my PC, even though there was bleep when plugging it in. The same happened on my second PC after it failed on the first. A bleep, but then nothing when I tried to select it as my speaker output. I then tried it from scratch on my laptop and it was not recognised at all. The Help offered on the Amazon site gave lots of instructions of how to get the PC to recognise it, but all to no avail. The Cubilux 7.1 USB Surround Sound Card itself had stopped working, although the blue light came on. So I have had to return it, which is a pity because it was really useful for what I needed it for.
