This machine is so fun. It's large enough to handle up to a week's worth of scraps for our family. It looks elegant and is simple to use. The bucket is really easy to clean, just wipe it out with a damp cloth after each use. And the smell of the fresh mulch is wonderful! We keep a bin beside the machine to collect our scraps throughout the week. That way the machine doesn't get moldy waiting to be run. Be sure to chop hard pieces (like tomato vines) or stringy scraps (like celery) into smaller chunks so you don't jam the machine. But if it does get stuck, it just stops and you simply soak it and clean it out in the morning. Gotta be careful not to put in too much sweet or wet things (like water melon). The sugar will cause the compost to get rock hard and the machine will error out. But again, a short soak and rinse fixes everything. A monthly water (steam) clean (following the instructions) will keep it in great condition. Also if you notice an odd smell when it's running, it simply needs a filter change (usually every 6 months or so). Charcoal pellets are available by the bag, so that's cheap and easy, too! I've had this about 8 months and still love it. It's a quality product! UPDATE: It stopped working in our 2nd year of weekly use. I changed the filter and did everything I could think of to get it to work again, with no luck. I contacted the company directly, asking them for advice. They asked me for my Amazon proof of purchase, then informed me that I was still under their 18 month warranty (I was actually 1 week over). So they sent me a brand new machine! VERY HAPPY with their customer service, and I still love this composter. Looking forward to another year or two of using it! 🤩

I tried two batches using this but it just looks like sludge and nothing like the dried soil that it looks like on the product photo. I don’t think it heats it up properly so that it doesn’t dry out enough. I can’t see how anyone would use it as compost on their house plants. It looks revolting. It even leaves a lot of solid bits in it so it doesn’t break it down properly. Also the plug is for the USA. I had to get an adapter to use it in Australia. I contacted the company asking for help but no one got back to me and I couldn’t find any information on how to work it properly. It’s been a complete waste of money. Definitely do not recommend.
