What is the amperage rating of the unit at 24vdc

The controller transmits signals, not currents.

Is this controller compatible with mydmx 3 from adj? (not seeing it in the adj fixture list.)

It should be - it isn’t a fixture as such - it converts the DMX channel for channel into SPI for pixel tape. So 512 DMX channels run >170 (3 ch) RGB pixels. If you look for a Pixel Batton style fixture that doesn’t have channels with odd functions eg. Sound activated etc. This might help. So a 12 spot baton running from 36ch would be ideal (RGB x12)

When in dmx mode, all pixels in my string (set to 50) react as if they are all the same channel, even when range (pno) is set to 001. help!?

Sounds like you are using a standard or RGBW tape rather than a pixel tape. A pixel tape usually has an arrow on it to confirm direction of flow.
