Love the simple design
Arrived the next day to my surprise. Arrived flat pack with assembly instructions.( Four sides and top and bottom). These were easy to follow instructions. The bin itself feels flimsy when you start assembling it, but when put together its really solid. It doesn't have a solid plastic liners like the lift up bins. You use bin sacks straight in the bin and a collar hold these in place. The swing mechanism is very sensitive, you have to only barely touch it and swings open. You can make the swing keep open by pulling back the swing doors gently. The bin has a large capacity, I have gone over 3 days without having to change it and we are a family of 4 who tries to recycle everything. I have fitted ours under our kitchen worktop,

Suprised by the poor reviews...
I am suprised by the poor reviews on these bins - the item feels of solid construction and the finish is good. The 40l version is 55cm high, which is compact but perfect as my recycling bin. As for tearing the bags, the top edges have been rolled over to prevent this happening - my guess is people have assembled the sides upside down (!) The closure on the swing top feels well sprung and takes up little space at the top of the bag unlike many other designs.

Solid, spacious, easy to use - touch lid more durable than it seems
Yes, this is a very expensive bin. And yes, you have to assemble it yourself (although this is no harder than typical IKEA, no matter what other reviewers think). But it is large, rectangular, has a lid system that doesn't get messy in use, and a well thought-through system of retaining the bin liner. The plastic latch that holds the touch lid looks fragile, and indeed the first one came broken off (Amazon was great replacing it as usual). I held back reviewing it because I wanted to see if this was the case in use, but after several months of daily use it is holding up fine. Summary: high price and potentially fragile latch make this 4 stars, otherwise it would be 5.

AVOID THIS ITEM
THE BIN THAT IS ONLY FIT FOR THE BIN.I BOUGHT 2 1 FOR NORMAL RUBBISH AND 1 FOR RECYCLINGi decided one was too badly damaged to keep and i am living with the lesser damaged one as i have positioned the dented sides out of sight against a corner wall. Its a shame because the bins in the pictures look good however they both came damaged with dents and scuff already on the metal sheeting, assembly only took a few minutes and with basic DIY skills and a Philips head screwdriver anyone could put this together (problem free i am not so confident or did it even screw together right for you?) , HOWEVER the design is bad as after i slid all the sheets together to make a box i proceeded to screw the bins base or bottom plastic on which went on ok but on the top where it has no plastic support to screw through to the rounded over metal joints they would try to pop out or bend open which was annoying as it would pull the metal apart and look bad, i managed to get it together neatly in the end.i ordered a 1 touch bin and an open bin for paper etc however the 1 touch opener is not going to last the catch is so badly designed and so weak it is obvious to me after a few seconds locking at this design it is designed to fail, its a matter of sooner rather than later the locking catch will break off and i will be converting it into a manual lift bin held with a magnet etc.i an so unhappy with this bin i am contemplating retuning this one to join the one already heading back.the fact is these bins are massively over priced considering the weak design to poor quality parts and the delivery damage straight out the box.i will not be buy any more of these for sure and i would advise you to absolutely avoid buying one if you are looking at this product for yourself.even if these were put down to £15 or something like that i would not buy another they are still not worth it.Sorry Hailo this is my truthful opinion on the products i received

Excellent.
We have replaced a 20 year old worn version of this bin, which we have within a pull-out cupboard as part of a Smallbone installation. The new one has a more substantial lid and effective rubber feet that prevent the bin sliding about. Excellent.

Makes emptying the bin easy.
After struggling to remove my bin bags from my old brabantia bin (it felt like I was a contestant in world's strongest Man trying to get the bag out of the bin) we bought this bin, when it arrived we were surprised it was flat pack, but it was so easy to assemble. With a air hole in the bottom to stop the vacuum forming, removing a 50l full bin bag could not be easier. Great Product.
