It's a softer, understated gold with a moderate sheen.Don't be misled by the description of being "highly mercerized" to connote that it's stiff because its soft to work with and feels comfortable against the skin. It doesn't have that shiny-stiff mercerized feel of other threads that are more appropriate for structured projects like Christmas ornaments.The color works well in combination with other colors as an accent color. But it's certainly beautiful on its own.DMC makes high quality products and I'd definitely buy again.
