I didn't know what to expect from an Indian snack made of a fruit I've never heard of. When I opened the container there was a somewhat strange, herbal fragrance that hit my nose - it wasn't like anything I've ever had in my life. I tried a piece, and was pleasantly surprised. The texture of these snacks are just about right. They require some chewing, but are soft enough that even the elderly can eat them just fine. There's an herbal flavor that reminds me of curry, in a good way. The spiciness is very, very mild, barely detectable, and the sweetness level is just right. If you treat these as a medicinal supplement and eat only a few pieces a day, they will last a long time. They are, however, delicious enough for me to eat big handfuls at a time. They're a genuinely tasty snack first and ayurvedic supplement second. Given the amount you get out of the container and the price it's selling at, they're also pretty good value for the money. I highly recommend these if you're looking to expand your horizons by trying a snack from a different culture.

These Amla Bite Chatpata Candies are good quality and taste authentic, made with just a few simple ingredients. They’re soft, chewy, and have a refreshing flavor. The sugar level is a bit high for my preference—they’re a little sweeter than I’d like—but I’m sure others will enjoy them.
