I installed this a few months ago and it works great. No more jumping out and turning on or off a valve. Nice to be driving down the road a flipping a switch to refuel my tank.

I bought this solenoid valve to use in a water treatment application, controlled by a programmable lawn sprinkler timer (hence 24VAC activation). Very rugged design with a plastic solenoid cover that can be rotated 360 degree's and secured in position. I removed the plastic wire hole cover where the pigtails enter the solenoid body and replaced it with a metallic 1/2" flexible conduit fitting. The pigtail leads are relatively short, so I soldered longer 18GA wire to the pigtails and shrink wrapped the connections inside the conduit enroute to the timer box. This valve slams shut pretty fast, and in my application I have 0 PSI on one side of the valve and 50 PSI on the inlet, so I had a lot of water hammer when the valve shut. I mitigated this with a large water hammer arrestor placed near the valve, and that took care of the problem. Very rugged valve with inlet and outlet clearly marked. It's been working flawlessly now for me for a couple of months. Would definitely buy again, although I think I'd go with a slower rotating ball valve solution next time to avoid the water hammer.
