1200 lb WLL Tyler Tool Stainless Steel Hand Winch, Brake Winch Boat 4wd Trailer

I replaced a ratcheting winch on a scissor lift pontoon trailer after the winch got away from me and nearly broke my arm. This is exactly what I wanted, you crank it up and let go and it holds. To go back down under load you simply crank the other way, there is a bit of resistance as the brake releases but it holds the weight if you let go. All quality stainless construction.

Little expensive… but when you compare quality to others …. ITS NOT!!! EXCELLENT THUS FAR !!!!

This winch failed after a short period of use. The rating of this winch is 1200lbs. It was used to raise a 60lb aluminum boat mast. The gear on the crank handle shaft stripped its internal threads that activates the brake feature. Thankfully the mast was not very high when the winch failed. A falling mast, even at 60lbs is dangerous. The winch worked well prior to failure. The quality of the brake function needs to be improved. The winch is constructed of stainless steel, which is why I bought it for use on my boat.

Worked for the first year then the break stopped working so now is a paperweight. Hoped it would hold up longer
