Very comfortable trail running shoe
Original text: March 2013I run on a variety of surfaces and don't like how slick feeling regular shoes can be on slightly muddy surfaces. This shoe gives me the grip I need to feel secure on dirt, leaves, grass and pavement.I have really wide feet (14EEEE), but every New Balance shoe I've tried fit me perfectly. The mesh is a bit stretchy, so the shoe fits snugly, but has enough give to be comfortable. The mesh also helps keep my feet cool and dry. That obviously cuts both ways: step in a puddle and you'll know it pretty fast. The heel has plenty of padding in the heel so pavement isn't an issue at all for me.To sum up, I'm really happy with the shoes.Update: August 2013I've been using these daily and they're wearing great. The padding in the heel's doing its job and my feet are happy. I have bunion bone on my left foot and the mesh of the shoe is stretchy enough not to cause problems at all. STILL happy! :DUpdate: Dec 2013They finally started showing enough wear to retire from running/walking. I've been putting about 3 miles a day on them since buying them, mostly on asphalt or concrete. Since the tread is getting smoother on the bottom, they're now my racquetball shoes! :DI replaced this pair with an identical shoe and am ordering a third pair for when I wear out the newest pair.Update: Aug 2014I don't recommend these for racquetball, they don't give much in the way of the lateral support that's needed for that sport. They're still great running and walking shoes and both pairs are still doing really well. I'm about to switch into pair number three, but it doesn't appear there will be a pair number four since the shoe is apparently no longer available in 14EEEE :/

Great Shoe Great Price
So far so good, although I haven't really tested them yet on more technical trail. The shoe is comfortable and durable. The best part is how well ventilated the MT810 is to allow your foot to "air out". The traction is a perfect hybrid for road running and less technical trail runs, no slippage and grips well. The one knock I would give it is in the toe region as the tip tapers to the middle rather than the right or left leaving less room for the "big" toe. Other than that I am perfectly satisfied with my purchase. One last thing, as with all the New Balance shoes I've experienced, if you have a high arch this is not the shoe for you.**Update: I used the MT810 for a 35.1 mile trail challenge and boy were my feet VERY HAPPY at the end. The trail consisted of over 5800 feet of climb, various terrains (large rock, gravel, dirt, mud, pavement). The shoe handled it all with ease. I paired the shoe with Injinji 2012 Performance Original Weight Micro Toe Socks and they both worked GREAT. I had one tiny blister and kept all of my toenails this year, last year with different shoes and socks I had multiple blisters the size of quarters and lost 3 toenails.SO YES BOTH MY FEET AND I RECOMMEND THE MT810!!

Light, comfortable shoe
I've been wearing new balance shoes for a while. With different shoes I've found different fits and levels of comfort. This shoe is among the most comfortable I've ever worn. It's extremely light, and breathes very well. The fit is perfect, and it only took a few hours of wear to 'break it in,' by the second day it was as if I'd owned it forever.Pro:+ very comfortable, breathes very well+ great fit. It really is an 11-D (the size I ordered).+ awesome for walking & standing in. I wear these all day, every day.Con:- Not a big fan of the plastic-y finish of the non-mesh parts. suede would have looked nicer.Overall a great shoe, I'm glad I got them!

Nice shoes, "goat head" and wood chip safe, adequate grip too so far
I was guided to "minimus shoes" by a guy 20 years younger than me who ran in college. I thought I had worn them long enough (weeks at a time, but only for walking, not running). I started running and ran as far as my heart and lungs allowed: not far let's say. I took it up a notch after a few weeks, and turned my calves into a knotted stubborn mess. I read a few books that recommended that I get shoes with more support: I think it said people over 150 lbs. I was 80 pounds past that. I was getting "goat heads" through the bottom of my minimus shoes. I had a 1/2 inch wide, 2 inch long wood chip come through the bottom of my new minimus shoe. My calves were useless. So, I tried these. No more goat heads sticking into my feet. No more wood chips. My calves work with me again. I run mostly on sand/rock trails, but about a mile or more is on wood chips. When I have to get my run in long before sunrise iIrun on our road. These shoes are meant for trail running, but they're good to go for 3 mile road runs too. These are light, well ventilated, and they give my heel fall a gentle landing. I tried running four miles on the balls of my feet this Saturday morning and my left calf is still complaining. I'll wear these out with conventional foot falls I think...

Fit great, very comfortable
I did try these shoes on in a store prior to purchasing them, however they run true to size unlike others. I have a normal "D" width foot but a narrow heel and find it difficult to get shoes that fit right. These are fit my heel, arch and width perfect. They are extremley comfortable right out of the box. I walk 4-5 miles a day on trails and street. On the trail they give good traction and shed mud and stones well. The trend in many shoes is the minimalistic look and feel. While these have a minimal sole or footbed look, to my pleasent surprise, there is more than adequate cushion on these shoes. Very pleased with the purchase, I'd buy another pair.
