As much as I like my 25L tank which is home for my crowntail betta. It was pretty lacking in the lighting department hence why I’ve bought this. Main reasons for choosing this one are the optional sizes, full spectrum for the plants and the day/night automatic timers. It’s too early to tell how good the timers are but if needed I’ll update the review. Basically it can be set to 6, 8 and 12hr intervals. There is also a moonlight setting with the same intervals so I’ll play about with those and see what works best. The photos you see were taken roughly 40min after I first powered the light on, it simulates sunrise by starting quite dim and gradually brightening. The build quality and assembly is very simple yet very well thought out. The lamp itself feels to be very high quality and the stand can be adjusted to fit many different tanks. Putting it together was straightforward and I didn’t need the instructions to work it out. One of the main reasons anyone buys these lamps is to make the tank look better right? Well it’s certainly doing that. Much more coverage than the lights the tank came with and I can see everything in there much better. So I’m glad I bought it. Also worth mentioning I ordered from Amazon and it arrived the same day. That’s never happened before. Can definitely recommend this one for smaller tanks.

Was a bit skeptical on this for the price, but had it a while now and gotta say its actually a great tank light. Loads of diffent colours you can cycle through, set to come on and go off, you can alter the brightness,and must say i seem to have had less algea growth in my tank since using this. Overall good quality, easy to use and would highly recommend

Super easy to set up. Very lightweight. I do adore the way it starts, it really looks like a sunset, it’s beautiful. My only issue here is when I try to press to switch off it goes to a low green color, not a biggie as I just switch on the mains.

Bought this a year ago and held off on a full review. It's absolutely stood the test of time! Holds it's timing extremely well, the daylight cycle is beautiful. Could be improved with a better timer setting system but for the price it's been amazing! It grows my plants so well and I've never had any serious issues with any algae when using this light. I bought a Fluval Aquasky for my big community tank, and after a couple of days, realised this was the better option. Honestly, best fish tank light for the money by a long shot!

OK..I own 2 Askoll tanks & (have kept tropical fish for 20+ years)..a 60L & a 100L. Both have internal 'all-white-only-leds' which are rubbish for plant growth!! The lights are moulded into the plastic cover & I've struggled to find a replacement led lamp with a full spectrum, UNTIL NOW 😊👌🌞 As soon as I saw this Hygger LED panel, I knew I was onto a winner. Not only is it perfectly flat on the back, it also covers every kind of colour inc moonlight🌙& it has very good timer options too. I've scorched off the plastic lugs that held the lamp in place(see pics) on the Askoll, allowing a perfectly flat surface to glue this new light onto 😉..I'm well chuffed, because I can finally set up both tanks properly at long last - the Hygger panel is of solid construction & the LEDs are good quality. The cable is detachable at halfway, allowing me to set it up easily without having to worry about where the plug end is👍 A very well thought out LED panel at last & from a reliable aquatic manufacturer 💦 ..I can only give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ as it has put a massive smile on my little boys face😊🐟 And mine too😏

The under hood light gave up the ghost after three years and a direct replacement was going to be an expensive option. I bought a 22 watt replacement and decided to dispense with the old plastic tank hood. The hygger was half the cost of the old LED and gave a significant increase in light output. The support brackets are simple to assemble with plastic bolts that tighten against the top of the glass tank. There is no danger of the bolts damaging the glass when tightened. The horizontal bars can be left loose to facilitate sliding the lamp fitting backwards to gain maintenance access to the tank. The standard 8 hour lights on period can be obtained by selecting the ten hour timed setting. There is a one hour sunrise period then eight hours full light then one hour of sunset, just perfect. Full manual control is available over brightness and colour intensity but the timer setting is a preferred setting to allow automatic operation day to day. The brackets are made of robust plastic, slight issue is the brackets are a tight fit into the slot on the back of the aluminium LED fitment. Instructions indicated fitting from the left side of the slot but mine fitted from the right hand side. In use the top of the LED fitment is slightly warm to the touch, I measured it as 37 degrees C.
