Nice and easy.
Great value. Worked great. Nice clear digital display and also lights to help see the readings. The only thing I didn't like was that when I placed the thermometer into the hot wax, the reading raised from low to high in increments instead of the instant hottest reading.

Faster read and longer probe than my old Taylor Meat Thermometer
I've been looking for a deal on an inexpensive meat thermometer to replace the old Taylor (bottom in pic) one I've had for ages. The Taylor one was well made and lasted for well over a decade, however it was banged up pretty badly during our last Thanksgiving dinner when we accidentally put it back into the oven with the Turkey. While the thermometer still works, the plastic was warped enough that the battery cap would not stay in place anymore. I picked up the ThermoPro TP01A for under ten dollars and for the price, I am quite satisfied. The probe is 2 inches longer than my old Taylor, which comes in handy for larger food items (Hams and Turkeys). The temperature read is definitely faster, perhaps a second or two difference which is a plus. The downside is that it uses 2 batteries versus 1 for the Taylor. However, this might just mean it lasts longer than the Taylor as the overall functions between the two are the same and I can't imagine the electronics are vastly different. I like the option of the indigo backlight, which is also helpful especially when used at night and in the oven where light might be scarce. I wish there were a better cap (instead of the plastic cover that will easily be lost), or a way to clip it to something. But for all the bells and whistles, I'd have to pay a bit more which I'm not interested in doing. For anyone looking for a simple, fast and inexpensive meat thermometer, the ThermoPro TP01A is a solid purchase.

Durable and Accurate, But Could Use a Clip
I recently purchased this thermometer and was impressed with its fast, accurate readings and durable design. The long probe keeps hands safe from heat, and the backlit display is easy to read even in low-light conditions. It performed well within its advertised temperature range, and the lock function is a handy feature. However, I accidentally dropped it into a hot roux while cooking. To my surprise, it still worked perfectly after I fished it out, which speaks to its durability. That said, this experience highlighted a key drawback: it doesn’t include any type of clip to secure it to the edge of a pot or pan. A clip would add convenience and help prevent accidents like this. Overall, it’s a reliable thermometer for everyday cooking, but the lack of a clip keeps it from being perfect. If you're careful, this is a great tool for your kitchen!

Easy to use, hoodvalue, easy to read.
I purchased this for myself 3 years ago. Now I buy them as gifts for everyone I know who cooks or grills. It's a good thermometer. Accurate and easy to use. Batteries are long lasting and replaceable. You get a temperature reading in 2-3 seconds and it's easy to see. Great value for the money.

Owned it 7 Years Now
I looked back at my purchase history and I can’t believe I’ve owned this thermometer 7 years. What prompted me to write te a review was that I accidentally dropped it in the dishwater and I thought it wouldn’t work after that but it did. I was impressed. The temperature readings are nice and visible, clear to read. Cleans up easy too. Just rinse the metal stem off and dry.

Great kitchen tool
Great tool to keep around the kitchen. This thermometer does exactly what it’s supposed to do and it’s very easy to use.

Sensor good, included battery is terrible
The temperature comes up quickly and matches my other thermometers, so the important part works. The battery was dead within a few weeks. I suspect the automatic shutoff is not working properly. The two LR44 batteries tested at just over 1.2V, which is surprisingly high voltage for a "dead" 1.5 battery, especially considering the falloff curve for the LR44 cells. The alkaline battery is pretty terrible anyway with a high risk of leaking, and I've replaced with two equivalent silver oxide cells that so far are lasting longer. If these also run down before the Amazon return period it will be returned, because I don't want to keep replacing batteries almost as expensive as the thermometer itself!

Accurate measurements

Accurate and relatively quick temperature readings (2 seconds?). Very good value ….. could buy higher quality units at 5-7 times the price, but it's just a thermometer....not a device for surgery!

Must have kitchen tool! I find myself using this every time I cook meat. It comes out way better when you know the exact temp and are able to take it off the heat. I prefer this design to the ones with wires as it’s easier to use and easier to clean. Display is bright, and seems accurate.
