Vegan Lip Peel Exfoliant

For over 20 years I've suffer for exfoliating cheilitis, which causes scaling on my lower lip that constantly cracks and peels. I purchased this product as a replacement for my usual lip exfoliator after it was discontinued. Although I was initially surprised by how soft my lips felt, I disappointed that I did not experience any exfoliating effects. So I restarted the replacement search while I continued to use this product for the hydration it provided. But after three days, I noticed that the skin on lower lip was much softer and neither cracking nor peeling. It has been a week now and my lip appear to be healing. I've included a before photo of my lip in the process of peeling/scaling and an after of my results so far. I am quite pleased with my purchase!

10/10 recommend. I think the bad reviews are for people who didn’t understand what this product is for. This is a product for chapped lips, when your lips are flaky or have some type of “hard shell” ie dead skin. It’s very effective. I apply it and then apply a lip mask and within 30-40 min, I wipe off and flakes come off or the hard shell is gone and my lips are soft again. I then apply a ceramide lip balm if I’m going to wear a makeup lip product or go back in with a lip mask if I’m not and staying home

So let me start off saying, my lips have been dry for a while. I drink LOTS of water, I use all sorts of lip balms, oils, sticks. I've used squalene, coconut, and rose hip oil. I have a humidifier in my bedroom and living room. I have provided the best possible moisture environment for my lips. But no, they're still dry. I had done extensive research, looking for that ONE product that would finally save me. All roads lead back to this one product, the Hydrating lip peel. Oh but how much worse could it get right? I ordered the product. Off the bat, the product arrived already questionable. The box was damaged, and the product itself had leaked on the inside of the box. There was stuff all over the bottle, and there was a FINGERPRINT on the shiny twist off cap, that was not mine. Ew. I reached out to the actual company to verify this was the real deal, legit product. They responded saying yes, Etailz was an authorized retailer, the product was real, and they would be more then happy to replace my questionable product. I tried. I wanted to like this product so badly. The product itself is incredibly bitter. The company recommended that I use a lip balm on top of it to prevent this. Okay, so I did. After a week straight of just using this in the morning, followed by lip balm, my lips are in SO MUCH PAIN. Oh my god they are drier then the Sahara desert. They still are, and I've stopped using this product. I don't know what went wrong, or if I was supposed to use one of their serums for follow up care? Either way please. If you are brave enough to try this product for yourself, god speed. I hope this works for you.

I dealt with a cracked lip that wouldn’t heal for about a month no matter how high a quality lip balm I used. This product, under my regular lip balm, had that crack healed in two days! I’m a new fan.

I was hesitant to try this product, since my lips are always very, very dry and I have to use some serious lip balm regularly for them to stay supple. But since they are always dry and I never feel like I can get the old chapped skin off, I thought I'd try it and see. But after 3 weeks I am extremely impressed; this product does what it says it will do. I've been using it twice a say in the morning and night (as opposed to once, which is the common recommendation), and my lips are smooth and calm! I have noticed that they are more prone to dryness if I don't keep a balm on them, but that's to be expected from a "peel," and I think if I drop down to daily or every other day use this will resolve. I roll it on (it's pretty watery, so you don't need to use a lot), let dry until tacky, then put a good moisturizer on top (for some reason Nuxe's matte lip balm works wonders over it). I was going to say I'll purchase it again, but this will last FOREVER - it looks like I haven't even opened it, although it's been over 40 applications. Recommend!

I really enjoy this product and the results in the little amount of time I’ve been using it. Gently exfoliates lips, sheds dead dry lip skin, and plumps my natural lip color under all the dry skin. No burning sensation, light peeling of the dead skin. It really works. Sadly, my bottle is almost empty. I think it was my rollerball. It took quite some time for product to emerge, and that after a bit of shaking, and just rolling it and rolling it on my wrist. Hopefully, my rollar ball was just a bit defective. If I was sent another one, to test my theory, and product came out great, I’d be a life time user. That’s how good the actual hydrating lip liquid is. As of now, I can not justify spending money on another, unless I was sent another one as a courtesy, to hopefully prove to me that this bottle was a fluke. I am a faithful amazon buyer, and I always always stick with good products. For ever. And I will always review honestly. I hated not giving 5 stars, because the product is so worth it, but not if I can barely get it out :(

07/04/2018: I got this peel yesterday. I believe my lips turned dark and chappy due to a bad chemical reaction from a drug store lipstick. Ive applied it about 5-6 times already. It stings a bit upon first application. I’m giving it 4 stars initially because I struggled with getting product out through the metal rollerball at the tip. I will come back in two weeks for a final review. 07/14/2018: Changed it from 4 stars to 5 stars! This works! My lips returned to their natural softness and are almost completely healed of the darkness. I did experience a day or too of darker lips but i used a tooth brush to massage my lips and it gently exfoliated the dark rough layer, revealing softer and lighter lips. I recommend this product and will buy 100 times if i have to!!
