I simply Googled ingredients in Ninben no TSUYU no MOTO. Here's the answer:Ingredients. Water, Soy Sauce (Water, Soy, Wheat (Gluten), Salt), Dried Bonito Extract (Fish), Kelp, Sugar, Salt, E621, Disodium Succinate, E631, E627, E270. ALLERGENS: Contains WHEAT, SOYBEANS, and FISH. Friend of mine makes his own dash (savory soup stock or dipping sauce) of bonito (skipjack tuna) flakes, dried seaweed or kelp, and soy sauce. Tastes amazing. This stuff is the same thing, a short cur. Just dilute it quite a bit to taste.

Far too sweet

I diluted it, as suggested, and made a bowl of soba soup noodles. I did not care for it at all, because it was far too sweet for me. All I could taste was sugar and soy sauce, and I failed to find the stock (bonito flakes and konbu) coming through. Probably good for making Beef Donburi, Sukiyaki, or Traditional Japanese Omelette.
