For solidly frozen ice cream this is the King (or Queen). It is easy to grip and easy to use--cutting through hard ice cream with little effort. However, for those who are drawn to rounded scoops, this doesn't do that--it's more of a semi-circle effect. However, the effort and hand pain in using those circular scoops on hard ice cream is taxing and hard on the hand. I have to say that this is the best scoop I have had in my long life.
