I love this design and quality. I only wish they would design a 8 and 10 inch the same way with center screw adjustment and no bending or detaching legs. Most 8 and 10 inch designs on market suck and use a false holder for pencil. This design with lead insert in one leg is great and accurate.

This compass is built well and is strong. Got to withstand a semester in a backpack

It is a wonderful compass. Easy to use. It does not slip or misadjust as you turn it. And it is always nice supporting a small business like Mr. Pen.

Compass fell apart immediately upon using; thus, my kiddo was so sad that it broke. :( As an update, following a message I sent to Mr. Pen, a representative responded the same day (on a Sunday) and said they’d replace the item for free, which I really appreciated. I received the replacement compass exactly one week later. Although the item broke immediately , since I received such great customer service and received a replacement for free, I am giving the product four stars.

Compass is very accurate due to wheel running along threaded rod. Dont be confused (as i was) ..this compass opens to 4 inches..total diameter of 8 in..i read it wrong..thought it would open to 8 in..overall luckily i only need 4 in opening so works for my application..very good quality and value..i recommend it

Too much play in the screw setting and the spring tension is too weak so it won't keep it's setting. If you open it too wide the whole thing falls apart and is VERY difficult to re-assemble. On top of this, the tiny screw that holds the pencil lead was loose in the package, luckily I discovered it before it got lost. I threw it away and bought a much better one for almost the same price.

Compass arrived today in terrible condition bent badly. Bow compass does not open past 3" 1/2. The claim of 4" compass is a lie, maximum circle size is 7". Severely disappointed will be returning.
